At our Gun Barrel City, TX location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Delicious food we have been twice so far!!! Good for a family on a budget. We did choose to dine in. Ended up with extra drinks by mistake the trip was worth the visit. I will continue to visit in the future. The staff was super friendly so that always is helpful.

Very disappointed with my meal. It looked as if the fryer was dirty and just threw the fish in it. Top of that i waited for quite some time. To top off this bad experience the cashier told me it was taking a while because they had to do everything fresh since it was closing time. I’m sorry but I’m in the restaurant industry too and don’t matter if is the last guest of the day food standard should be the same as the first guest that day.

During lunchtime we ordered fish & fries and fish and shrimp with two drinks. The meals were delivered to our table without the drinks. The fish and shrimp meal was delivered without shrimp, which we received after asking, and the Mac & cheese side was room temperature, not hot. They gave us another order, but it was also not hot. We have been to Captain D’s multiple time and had great food and service. Disappointed about today.

Was terrible..sat in drive thru for 20 min and finally pulled out of line and went to another restaurant down the street ..sad thing was there was only 1 vehicle in front of me and no one behind me…by the time I decided to leave, they had 7 cars backed up…good luck!
