Very unique dinning experience! This dinner is frozen in time, back to our parents and grandparents generation. The kitchen is open so you can chat with the cook that is preparing your food, in fact as you leave he will ask how you enjoyed everything, maintaining that cook to guest connection. Everything on the menu is a special treat, some items you won’t find in other restaurants such as the liver and onions, in house made chicken fried steak and more. Everything tasted fresh and made in house from the soup of the day to the mashed potatoes, they don’t cut any corners here, and you surly won’t be leaving hungry. This dinner showcases the vibrant culture of dinners along Route 66. If your are visiting or live in ABQ, you need to come and enjoy a meal at the Western View!

It’s got a western diner feel. The owner is the main cook. The food is delicious and you can see the pride in the way it is made. Staff is super kind and caring even when my nonverbal but very noisy autistic 4 y/o comes with us. Highly recommend the bronco buster!

Had an absolutely delicious steak here. I ordered the sirloin, the chef (possibly the owner?), came out and offered a substitution of an Australian New York strip cut. It was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Served with some yummy mashed potatoes and gravy. My boyfriend ordered the chicken fried steak, which was also really tasty. Highly recommend! I will definitely be returning.

Coming down on a random Monday, I was very well pleased. They absolutely provide phenomenal service! They stand out because the are one of the FEW places open past 8pm to feed hungry people, give amazing service, AND be super cool. From there personalized service of the owner coming by and talking to his attentive wait staff, I feel sorry for anyone trying to compete . HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO EAT HERE ✅

I Just ate the most beautiful Chicken Fried Steak of my life here. It was hand breaded and fried, and just straight up looked and tasted amazing. I have loved coming here for the past 10 years, and the CFS has always been handmade and good, but the cook really knocked it out of the park this weekend. I am a CFS freak, so it is awesome that I have a good spot to get an excellent from scratch cfs dinner or breakfast. My son kept stealing bites, which was helpful or I would have had to beach myself somewhere in the parking lot if he hadn’t. The mashed potatoes were homemade and excellent well, as were the vegetables. I love the laid back classic diner atmosphere, and the well executed classic diner and New Mexican food at good prices no less.

The location has a definite retro coffee shop vibe. The menu is a wide variety of choices, so we decided to taste several dishes. Everything was fresh and hot food was served hot, cold foods were cold. The following is what I’d recommend trying: French dressing, onion rings, guacamole, rib eye steak, baklava, & cherry pie.
