Traditional African food found! Egusi, Pounded Yam, Moin Moin, Suya, Jollof rice with chicken, Goat meat pepper soup, you name it. I can’t not found elsewhere have such abundant African cuisine. Service is superb. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. Delivery service is neat and accurate. Food is delivered very fresh and tasted. I highly recommend!

First time ordering here tonight from Uber Eats. The jollof is tasty however the other items is a miss. When I removed the two pieces of chicken from the okra stew, it’s a little bit of stew. More stew could of been added for sure. I ordered an addtional swallow thinking it be enough stew. The moi moi is not cooked! I had a similar experience years ago with the moi moi at another restaurant. I should watch some videos to learn how to make it. Overall not a great first experience.

I saw mama philos on Ubereats yesterday and saw they were serving my favorite traditional dishes. I didn’t even know such a store was so close to me. I decided to check the reviews first and saw a mix of good and bad reviews. I went ahead and decided to give it a try. As you see in the image below….I ordered (Egusi soup with pounded yam and meat pie on the side). I loved it ! Good pricing and good quality food. I will definitely be coming back to enjoy more dishes.

Some of the reviews were worrisome but I decided to give it a try anyways. Ordered a meat pie , jollof with assorted meat , and Okra soup with goat and pounded yam… Definitely did not regret it. Both meals were well seasoned and prepared to perfection!! Looking forward to ordering again and trying some other dishes

Ok so I’m completely 100% hispanic, this place is completely different from me. I was dying to find a place that sells Egusi Soup & fufu & i finally found it. Yes super far from my house (40mins). It was my first time trying it, I asked my plate not to be spicy at all & omgggggg this food came out so delicious. They were super nice & listened to my order. I am def coming back. I had Egusi Soup with Goat & Fufu. Thank you!!

I wanted to try fufu and egusi cuz I seem it all over social media and it looked really good. I think the whole custom of eating with my hands would be a fun experience… which it was. The closet african spot from where I live is 40 mins away. I had to go into the city for something and remembered that mama philos is on my way back to suffolk. And mannnn when I tell you it was EVERYTHING I expected and then some. I got the egusi and the vegetable meals, with goat and the pounded yams. It was so good, 2 weeks later I drove 40 mins just to get some more. I got there AS SOON as they opened. They told me it was going to be 30 mins until my good would be ready. I gladly responded, ” I’ll wait”. Absolutely one of my new favorite dishes. I’m going to try something else, but for now, the egusi got me hooked. The people were nice and friendly as well.
