Mekong District focuses on dishes influenced by family recipes but also inspired by different world cuisines.
Unlike other area Vietnamese restaurants, Mekong District is not your traditional Vietnamese fare. We aspire to bring influences from different Asian and Western cuisines into Vietnamese cooking.
While you may find staples such as pho and grilled rice and vermicelli dishes, Sriracha Edamame, Viet Carpaccio, Lamb Shank, MD Steak and Coconut Mussels are definitely not Vietnamese. But fair warning, some dishes are based on chef’s inspiration and may not stay on the menu for long.
Twists on traditional Vietnamese cuisine, plus fusion dishes & chef’s specials at this cozy option. Based on 151 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price $$

Overall, this was a solid restaurant, conveniently located in downtown Nyack adjacent to the village municipal parking lot. The menu is pretty authentic but also includes many Asian fusion dishes. In general, the dishes felt like a hit or miss.

Delicious food! Flavor of broth was very nice. I think we got the very tail end of the remaining oxtail pho so it seemed like there was only a little meat left but still very good. Loved the green papaya salad and the duck buns

Worst. You want a pork belly sandwich and they’ll give you veggie sandwich with garnish of pork. Nothing tasted good. Waste of money. Ruined my day.

Really nice spot. I had the pork belly with vermicelli and a papaya salad both were superb. Food was fairly priced and came out quick, and it’s also a beautiful space. Will definitely return.

My husband and I drove from NYC to eat at Mekong District at Nyack and the food surpassed all of our expectations! We are big fans of Vietnamese food and this place now ranks at the top of our go to places even if it’s a bit of drive. Pho with oxtail was delicious, especially the broth … the kind of broth you want to slurp from the bowl or bring back home just to slurp later! The curry mussels were amazing …. the curry itself almost outshined the mussels, beef cubes were tender and since it was the first dish I tried I pretty much inhaled the food (hence no photos), chicken and waffles were perfection…. honestly there was not a single dish that’s not worth raving about but in order to keep this review short, I will just say if you happen to be in Nyack visit this little gem of a place!!

This is a restaurant you’ll want to visit if you’re in the area. The restaurant is clean, staff are quick, and the food is delicious. Flavors are very good and portions are more than sufficient. Recommend!

Great Vietnamese pho with several grilled choices and appetizers. It’s a small venue and takes reservations only for groups of 5+. The food is authentic and tasty. The atmosphere is bare-bones and the service adequate, but not especially friendly, (but not unfriendly). If you’re going for the authentic food, you’ll be pleased. The rest is just okay.

Excellent little place for dinner. We had the chicken pho and three beef pho and the lemon grass steak with fried rice. Everything was delicious. The pho was fresh and you could taste the flavor of the lemon grass on the meat but not overbearing. The restaurant is great for friends, couples and groups alike. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant is in a busy town so I would include time to find parking if you’re meeting up with friends.

I grew up eating Vietnamese food in SoCal from my friends’ mom’s kitchens and I’ve been to Viet Nam to visit family (who brought me to their favorite places), so here are my thoughts on Mekong Grill. If that isn’t enough street cred, I’m Southeast Asian and eat Thai/Indo/Filipino/Viet/Cambodian/Singaporean/etc food like it’s nobody’s business.
