I have been here at least ten times and I can safely say I’ve never had a meal that wasn’t perfect. The quality can’t be beat and the flavors are fantastic. You can pay the same amount for similar dishes elsewhere, but they won’t be nearly as good as Treebeards! Oh and the ambiance and staff are top notch.

Tasty southern classics with a chic twist, backed up by tasty libations and knowledgeable bar staff. On this occasion, tried the tangy Saturday lunch special – BBQ Shrimp & Grits – which distanced itself from the traditional southern dish by the addition of a quick tart after-bite to the sauce. Grits were creamy and buttery. Entree matched well to the red beans and rice and jalapeno cornbread sides.

Atmosphere is off the charts. We need more places like this. The food, has gone so downhill for every location. It’s like cafeteria food at best, but you’ll pay twice the price. The service can be hit or miss, but usually on point. Doesn’t make any sense to reduce the quality of the food. It’s like Cafe express quality now which is bunk. Bar and drinks are great!

Place looks great. Friend said his jambalaya was good. But I had the fried fish. $21 for one decent sized piece of fish and 2 sides with a drink. But the fish had no flavor whatsoever. It tastes like dirty water. The sides were meh at best.

All around friendly team. Super clean. Great layout! Patio area is nice. Love the design and flow of the inside. Comfortable. 1st time at this location. I’ve gone to their original location since I was a kid. My dad is big fan of their Red beans and rice. Today was our first time at this location. The food was good today. Not great. Chicken fried steak is so promising, but was a bit soggy and lacked full crispness all around. Collards were very good. Cornbread had dried out too much. Enjoyed the red beans and rice. We’re going to come back again. They were pretty busy during a rainy day Tuesday. Great staff.

Unimpressed. The blackened catfish/black eyed peas were undercooked. The peas along with other sides had absolutely no flavor. The cornbread/cake was extremely dry and unflavored. Basically everything we tried was in dire need of salt, seasonings, and much more time on the stove. In all honesty, I’ll spare you the pics but I have to at least show the watery peas. If it were cooked it would have been creamy. The ones out of a can were softer and more flavorful. We didn’t finish anything.I am puzzled at the high reviews.

I’ve been going to Treebeard’s for over 20 years. It’s always the highest quality and very consistent. That’s probably because they have mostly the same staff probably not since 1976 when they first opened but maybe their kids… I do miss some items, like the Duck Gumbo on Mondays, from the old location downtown but all of the menu items are the same recipes. If you sit at the bar you can actually get all of your food in courses, like a typical type of restaurant, instead of waiting on line and having them bring it to you, which I prefer. The owners are awesome!
