At our Alcoa, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I visited here yesterday from out of state. Very disappointed in customer service. The kid at the register wasn’t very friendly or welcoming. Our order was incorrect. My food was barely warm and I had to take it back for a replacement. The kid that was the cashier wanted to debate with me about my order. I told him what I ordered two or three times and he said well you can throw that away. I left the tray sitting there as he went in the back to talk to his manager. He came back out and said my manager wants to see the food and he took the plate to the back. Well eventually I got a hot meal and it was corrected without the amended price. The two other people I was with were halfway through their Meals by the time I got to sit down with them. I noticed the receipt said we have been charged for two soft drinks which we did not get. We had water. The lady who had taken me out to eat went back to the cashier and told him we were charged for drinks we did not get. He wanted to debate again and said well at first you ordered two drinks until you noticed how expensive they were. The manager did resolve the issue by giving us three pieces of Cheesecake because she didn’t want to mess up her register. I think the oil and grease is dirty because I had bad indigestion last evening from that food. Needless to say I will not return to this chain again. Tried the spicy fish, disappointed to say the least. Wasn’t aware I was getting overcooked giant fish sticks. The okra and corn were fine but I used to love captain D’s fish but portions have shrunk while prices have gone up and the fish is not as good as it once was.

Chicken wasn’t cooked all the way and slaw was bland. It should come with a drink but you purchase that separately. The total for 1 person was about 18$.. noting but a chicken 4 piece meal with slaw and fries and 2 hush puppies with a medium drink.

My wife and I ate at this location last night and overall, we were so disappointed. We placed our orders and then proceeded to find a booth. Every table was dirty! So, we ask the staff to wipe off the table we had chosen. When the lady come out, she acted like she was upset that we had ask for this to be done. She pulled the booth table out from the wall and wiped it off and then only pushed it partially back into place and walked away.

We will absolutely never return to any Captian D’s. We had gotten a $40+ order, to which we returned an the manger even said she saw why we returned it an told us it was due to the ice on the chicken that was then fried which caused it to burn, and we asked for a refund. She told us it would be sent in the mail by corporate and if not received in two weeks to call back, we gave it a month we know how it is an we understood. Well we called back to which we were told we would NOT be receiving a refund an she got so beligerent that we even had to call the cops. So when my husband got home I called corporate an they took down our story an said we would be in touch with someone named Melvin. A week later he got ahold of us an told us it was being looked into, we talked with this guy for two months!! Which means this went on for FOUR months! He said we were refunded which didn’t happen an we even offered our bank statement cause we didn’t mind showing it cause we DID NOT receive the refund. He then asked for our card info so he could look it up to make sure we had gotten it, never heard back. It’s absolutely poor service in the store an by the people who are supposed to fix it. The day we called an talked to Alcoa they told us to leave a review as it was a Theft of Service but they couldn’t help us because it had been so long, all due to them yanking us around. So now we are doing it just to warn others of how they will be treated an to be careful if you choose to eat here.

$43 wasted on undercooked cold seafood “feast” . Had to throw shrimp and stuffed crab away because of temperature of it . We had to cook EVERYTHING else in the air fryer just to be editable. You cannot contact them by phone because it goes to a wireless phone. Went out there and was smarted off to and cussed at by a greasy long haird teenager. If it wasn’t for the wonderful personality of the lady behind the register ( wish I had gotten her name ) that nasty kid with no hair net or beard net could have and should have gotten a much needed lesson in manners !!

My wife and I were so disappointed! We both got the $5.99 fish and shrimp. The one shrimp was cooked to the point of competing with Goodyear rubber. The other garlic shrimp was greasy and mushy. The hush puppies and fish plank was good tho. It is so sad to watch everything degrading so much, service, food quality, while prices keep rising.

Food was ok .. it wasn’t very hot when we got it. And it was freezing in the building. All of the plants were dieing,one was sitting in a to-go box. Kinda cheaply decorated. Several tables were dirty and the floor was not swept.
