We just tried Southern Suya which is delicious Nigerian food. All of their meat is marinated in Suya which contains a blend of ground peanuts, spices such as ginger, garlic, and cumin, and a hot pepper powder such as cayenne or paprika. We got the jerk chicken with their spicy Jollof rice and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! If you are in the area stop in and check them out.

We tried the new location that’s opening at Northlake. They’re still getting settled so it’s takeout only (which was fine with us… couple of moms with hungry boys fresh off the trampolines down the strip). The lovely women who waited on us (Lisa and Alisha) were delightful. Friendly, helpful, engaging. We ended up rustling up some blankets from the car and had an impromptu picnic on the sidewalk outside. The food was delicious; between us we tried several dishes and all were thumbed up (by all ages). All in all, a very pleasant experience. We’ll be coming back for the dining room soon!

I’m addicted to this place like LITERALLY. I feeel like I have to come here at least once out the week for my POUNDED yam and egusi. They’re the only place that doesn’t put meat directly in the egusi and you can choose what meat you want in it. It’s ALWAYS fresh and hot. It’s Monday as I write this and I’m kind of sad that they are closed on Sunday and Monday so I’m patiently waiting until Tuesday lol, don’t hesitate about coming here, RUN, FAST and you’ll come across a beautiful sweet hearted lady that brings your food to you. I will be sure to get her name next time

I never got a chance to try the food. My husband called to place an order and we encountered the rudest person we ever had the displeasure of meeting. Apparently asking questions about the menu is a big no no as the girl that answered the phone had the nastiest attitude and yelled at my husband to “JUST ORDER HIS FOOD!” I was shocked and appalled at her nasty demeanor and I grabbed the phone to tell her that we would no longer be ordering anything due to her terrible attitude. She could care less and hung up the phone. Totally disgusting.

Food was amazing, the best pepitos I’ve been tried ever in USA. Exquisite churros five stars for all the food. BUT…. We arrived by the end of the shift and we was still eating and they stared to clean with chemical products all around before we leave. If you’re coming just make sure coming a bit earlier

Had a taste for some lamb and wings. The garlic wings were so big and juicy I have to admit, they did not make it home. The lamb wrap (that is not what it is called!!!!!!!) made it to the exit on 75. The food and the service is awesome. It is to go only. I live in McDonough but the ride to them is worth it (today in the pouring rain). Staff of Southern Suya thank you for a wonderful meal. The price makes it an awesome deal.

My husband and I called yesterday evening inquiring whether they had an item on the menu, and the woman who answered the phone was had a tone that was not very customer service friendly and no matter how many times you say “sir”… inflection matters. She seemed to be annoyed and overwhelmed and it just felt like we were hassling her because we had questions. Before she can reply with any fabricated reasons the honest truth is if you are not equipped to handle questions you should not be in customer service. Key words there. We definitely should have read the reviews because the ones where the owner replied speaks volumes. To her she’s never wrong. Sad.

Let me tell you, I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened and have NEVER been disappointed by the food or customer service! Literally not even once! The suya, jollof with extra stew and supreme shawarma are my go-tos. Definitely will still continue to patronize them when they move to their new location on the 30th.
