Colada Shop was born from a love of the Cuban coffee tradition. We opened our first storefront in 2016 with the goal of spreading the Cuban coffee and social tradition to the DC community. Colada has since expanded to multiple stores in the DMV area, serving as a gathering space for good, food, coffee, cocktails and conversation. We have since expanded to Colada Shop offers retail versions of some of our guest’s favorites on our menu so that everyone can bring home a taste of Cuba and help spread the #coladalove!

Overall, the atmosphere and vibe are great. Vibrant colors, the mural and music are authentic and outstanding. The food is good, with the one dish that stood out being the ropa vieja. My main issue is the prices and quantity that you receive. You get a small portion for a premium price. I get that the location lets them get away with $25+ for an order of ropa vieja, but I’d expect more on the plate. I had an old fashioned to drink, which was good as well. I liked the easy QR code ordering from the table, but I get that older people might be turned off by that (my dad being one). If I could, I’d give Colada Shop 3.5 stars, but I rounded down to 3.

Some many delicious options. Definitely recommend the Media Noche, café con, Leche, empanadas, and croquetas. But all the options are really good and flavorful.

It was our first time going to Colada Shop, and my friends and I are from the western part of Virginia. We were celebrating my birthday in Bethesda, and I noticed we were close to Potomac. I watch Real Housewives of Potomac, so I seen the shop on the show, and I just had to try it out. first of all, the vibe… amazing. everyone was sooo nice and super helpful. since it was our first time there, we weren’t sure about how the process worked- if we sat ourselves, if we ordered at the front and waited to take it to our seat, etc. the person helping us was such a sweetheart. I forgot to ask for their name, but I would mention them in the review if I remembered. 10/10. the food…. amazing. it was so refreshing to get good yucca fries. not everyone makes them good. also, the drinks… 10/10. worth the trip. will be back again when we’re in the area!

The food and coffee are good at Colada. However, the customer service is really bad. They take very long time and the orders are not correct when you finally get them. The past two times I have been there were both bad experiences. I even had to go back to the restaurant because they forgot to include a sandwich in my to-go order.

How is this place still open? They charge more than posted prices, default the checkout to 18% tip and for $16 look at the scrawny bowl you get.

Excellent and very consistent. Great for families and good service. We have tried most things on the menu, we especially like the burger, beef empanadas, Cuban sandwich, yucca fries, and the chicken croquetas. They have occasional specials. We’ve had some of their alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and smoothies and they’ve been great.

Great food, great atmosphere, super welcoming staff. I had the medianoche + iced cafe con leche yesterday…still thinking about it today. With Celia Cruz playing in the background for a second I felt like I was sitting in Little Havana and not Potomac Great experience overall. Will be back soon. Like really soon

As a Cuban expatriate living in Maryland, sometimes I long for some of the most iconic foods of my country, easy to find in South Florida, but pretty rare in my zone. The ones I miss the most are those that are really the kind you get at cafes and cafeterias, like Cuban coffee “coladas” (expresso) or “cafe con leche”(Cuban versión of a latte), with perhaps a side of “croquetas” (ham, chicken or codfish croquettes) or a guava pastry. These are not dishes that you typically would make at home! And there is of course the Cuban sandwich, which as of late has found a Millennial audience, and many imitators.

This venue is Adorable! No surprise this little gem is a female-owned fast casual operation, with uplifting colors, scrumptious bites and the most friendly, accommodating staff! I am obsessed with the Frozen Pina Colada and the Guava Frozé. I have been a handful of times now, both with friends and on occasion I have stopped by and sat out back alone (with a Piña colada, of course! ☺️) to regain composure in the midst of a busy work day. The back Terrace is a slice of serenity. Do yourself a favor and stop in ASAP- I recommend weekdays, as weekends can get crowded! However, anytime is a great time!
