We started off our meal with some truly exquisite chips and salsa. It was just the right amount of chips and they have a salsa bar where you can get the salsa of your choice. There are 5 choices ranging in flavor and spiciness so all who come can enjoy the delicious flavors.

I was kinda unhappy with my bowl. They gave me alottttt of the toppings that I asked for and I appreciated that but there was BARELY BARELY BARELYYYY any rice,beans, or chicken. I will be sticking with chipotle for sure when it comes to bowls but I will be returning to try something different. The vegetables that I got for toppings were very fresh!

The Burrito Shak Cary is a GREAT place to go if you like FRESH food. They prepare the foods daily and always have a wonderful selection of various items to choose from for whatever combination meal you like. The staff is polite and kind and most of the time thank us for coming in to eat with them.

I really wanted to love this place. The food tasted as though it came from cans (e.g. large cans of black beans can be seen in the room just past the cash register… making beans from scratch is simple and improves the flavor profile), and the guacamole was acidic and tasted as though it was squeezed from a package, and not recently. The food was more salty than flavorful. The food line/prep area was incredibly messy, which was not so appetizing as we watched them make our order. Also, the portion sizes were quite small. The service was excellent – were it not for that, I would probably have given 2 stars. Disclaimer: I was born and raised in SoCal with Mexican American roots, so my standards are fairly high. If you have never tried authentic Mexican food, you might like this place.
