We came here in a whim and are sure glad we did. The food was really delicious and perfect sized portions. So many delicious plantain options, all cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and the outdoor seating was nice. Thankfully the weather was cooperating. They have a little mini bar a well with great drinks, worth the stop if you’re in the area.

We found this place while walking around downtown McKinney. My wife and I ordered the pulled pork, the ham croquetas, and the yucca fries. We loved our food. The texture of the ham croquetas were mushy. The yucca fries were perfectly fried and the pulled pork was great.

Customer service was great. The cubano sandwich was juicy and goey. Well balanced of flavor packed between a nice bread that had just the right crisp. The plantain chips, I wasn’t really a big fan of just expected it to be sweeter. Overall I would definitely come back again.

If you want to travel straight to Cuba, this is the place. Very colorful place, with lovely people and real home food. You can taste the food from outside just by smelling its amazing ingredients. Only a person that knows about Latin food knows what I’m saying. This is the place where you go for good taste and good quality rather than reservation and space. You like, you want it you eat it doesn’t matter where u stand! I highly recommend Guava as a daily spot to get your breakfast, lunch, and dinner, even if u want to get your drink to hang out and talk in or out! Kudos to the amazing owner and staff that makes this place feel like home and love!

Don’t let this unassuming little spot fool you, it packs a big punch! The food is hearty, the drinks are satisfying, the service is warm, and the prices are good. My companion and I had tostones and the loaded yucca fries with guava lemonade to drink. The cocktails looked amazing but it was a little early in the day when we went. The appetizers were big enough portions to have as entrees. Every element of each dish was so perfect, it all came together to perfectly. The menu isn’t huge, but there’s plenty of options for any diet. The service was SO friendly and fast. And the atmosphere was cozy but cool. This is the perfect place to stop in for a quick bite and refreshing beverage while you’re in historic downtown. Can’t wait to go back.
