One of our favorite places to eat in Prairie du Chien, WI. Had the hot toast beef sandwich, and it was excellent. Good flavor and nice rich gravy!! And don’t forget dessert!! The lemon meringue pie is awesome!! Hubby had caramel apple pie with ice cream, and said it was great!!

Stopped in for lunch on a cycle trip the Mississippi River. They had a Friday fish fry special and I tool that. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. Fish was tender and flaky as it should be. Great French frys too! Great service, friendly staff. If I’m in the area ,I’ll be at the Hungry House Cafe for my meal!

Food was good but the young waiter wasn’t very friendly and never came back to ask us if everything was okay and never came back and asked if we wanted refills … we had to leave our table and go to counter and ask for more and got attitude from waiter for asking

I tried this restaurant 4 times hoping it would improve. The first three times the food was bland and tasteless. This last time my food came burnt. It was like eating rocks so I didn’t eat anymore and told the waitress I wanted to speak to management. A man with an apron came out, yelled at me that his food was not burnt, though it was black on the bottom and hard and then he crumbled it up with his bare hands on my plate. They insisted I still pay for the meal. I didn’t say anything to them about the food the first three times, just when it came burnt and i couldn’t eat it. I was hoping to find something good about the restaurant but I find no reason to choose to go there again. They have bland, tasteless or burnt food, have bad attitudes, and terrible customer service.
