Went for dinner, ordered a pizza. After waiting a ridiculous amount of time, my waitress went to check on my order. She came back to tell me the pizza was burnt and they would start on a new order. She brought me some moz cheese sticks to appease me. They were disappointing, to say the least. I left a 20.00 and headed out in search of dinner. VERY disappointing! I had planned to bring my class for pizza and beer this week. That won’t be happening now. I won’t be back!

Pretty much what you’d expect for a college town sports bar adjacent to the Red Roof Inn. Gyro wrap was ok, nachos had been sitting around a while, pizza was good. Men’s restrooms are frat house quality. Beer is the safe bet here, and they even have Guinness. As long as the dropping ceiling by the bar doesn’t collapse you’ll be fine.

Had the most amazing experience at Dave’s. It was for the Drag Brunch they have once a month and it was absolutely incredible. The FOOD IS DELICIOUS, the service was prompt and the entertainment was superb. Great job!

Best place in town to get a traditional Greek gyro. Lots of options on the menu, but hands down best gyro I’ve had since moving to Mississippi. We typically get pizza for our kids, and a calzone or wraps. Love the dessert options and the spinach dip is always delicious too. Just need y’all to open for lunch time 😉

So, while you may have to wait an hour or more for the pizza, plan ahead and enjoy the best pizza in town. Decided on my last order to try the Chicago-style deep dish. I can verify that it’s the authentic deal and was delicious. Have had no complaints with any of the menu offerings I’ve tried and, while you may have to wait, as well as pay a bit of a premium price for it, it’s well worth it.

Fun old school college town bar/restaurant with a compelling history…great pregame spot for MSU sports…plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with pool tables, darts, live music stage and TVs everywhere…extensive menu…food is well prepared with large portions…enjoyed seeing Bulldogs sports memorabilia covering walls…loved dark, dive bar setting with friendly staff and patrons

The first time we ate here, we did not have a great experience. (It took a very long time-and we didn’t even order pizza because we were warned that if we did, that would take a while-which understandable for the deep dish-and why we ordered different food instead. That food wasn’t great and after waiting 45 minutes for our dessert, she brought the wrong one out. It was just a disaster all the way around.) We decided to give it a second chance. We went when we had ample time, and had a great experience, and loved our deep dish pizza. However, today was a complete strike out. The service was terrible, we could tell he had not been trained (slow, awkward, and you could just tell he had not been taught how to be a waiter-he should’ve been shadowing someone still, not on his own yet), and after waiting over an hour for our pizza (yes-understandable with the deep dish) it tasted terrible. No flavor in the meat (the “Italian sausage” was nothing more than un-seasoned ground beef), it was NOT deep dish (very thin-see picture attached-we’ve had regular pizzas thicker than this one was) and not made at all like the pizza that we loved from our second experience there. Very disappointing to pay $33 for a pizza that was not good. We would’ve rather been told the kitchen was closed than pay so much for a bad lunch. Sadly, since we can’t count on consistency, we won’t be back.

Great service always. One of my favorite places to go hang out with friends. Food here is to die for, and it’s really just the perfect place to go on a night out with your besties.

A friend of mine recently described Dave’s Dark Horse Tavern perfectly: “Dave’s is the perfect amount of ‘dive bar.’ Any more and you wouldn’t feel too comfortable going there if you weren’t a local, but any less and it wouldn’t seem authentic.” Great pizza, regular live music, and a local experience in a college town you can’t get anywhere else in the lower 48. Or the other two, for that matter. 10/10.

I will start with don’t let the location fool you. This is a must stop. This place has incredible food. They have something for everyone. Vegan, vegetarian, dairy free or gluten free .. Not a problem. Are you meat eater? Not a problem.
