This place was rented out for a private meeting a large group of us had. Kudos to the person that made this decision, as hubby and I had never been. The service was amazing, the food was totally awesome and the prices were pretty good. Even though its an hr. drive from our house, we will definitely be going back!!

Friends and family always have a GREAT time at Sophie’s Grill & Bar. We enjoy delicious meals, live music, and their special events. Owner and employees are committed and really put their heart and soul into creating an inviting atmosphere. My favorite dish is the goulash and stuffed cabbage. Also, when you arrive, and see everyone up and dancing, it is such a positive experience. I highly recommend spending an enjoyable time at Sophie’s!

We drove over from Winston Salem to celebrate my dad’s birthday with some good Eastern European food he remembers from the old country. We arrived to a warm greeting from Desy and made our way to a beautiful side room to look over the fantastic menu. Simeon was attentive and entertaining and guided us but we saw many familiar dishes that helped make it easy for everyone to find something quickly. The Serbian Sausage was the most memorable, just outstanding in flavor! Simeon wasn’t wrong on that one! Also fantastic was the Paprikash! Such a hearty stew that definitely brought back some memories.

The outdoor patio was lovely, and the servers were friendly. It was busy because of the live music, which may have accounted for the missing fresh fruit in my ginger spritz. My husband really enjoyed the Salmon Nikoloff, but I was disappointed that the Chicken Paprikash didn’t have much paprika in it. Tasty, but not what I expected. We will probably return on a less busy night and try other dishes. Also know that a 20% gratuity is added on Friday night. This didn’t bother us because we always tip 20% anyway. But others might be displeased at this.

A great Eastern European gem is a non-discriptive location. We had a big party and the waiter Simon was excellent. Our food was also great except for ygr Bulgarian platter for two, which was not worth the price. However, the goulash and paprikash was excellent.

I came to Sophie’s by happy accident while my car was being serviced. I am blown away and can’t wait to bring my family here. The Goulash was spectacular comfort food. Service was outstanding. Environment is upscale casual. Menu is full of both American classics and European comfort. They are rolling out a new menu.. definitely check it out!

Simeon was our waiter. He is the best waiter that anyone could ask for. Desi made a VERY good choice when she brought him on staff. He knows the menu inside and out and is very entertaining. Simeon was our waiter…he was TERRIFIC! But the important part is the food, and it was AMAZING. We’re going to have to come back several times just to try all the delicious dishes on the menu. Our family went last night for the first time. I loved the ambience and the food, but I was not full. The special Valentine menu did not include most of the things I had heard about. We discovered later that we had paid a 20% gratuity without being notified by the waiter. The jazz band was a nice touch.
