My Sister And I started humbly but with a grand plan: To create an authentic taste of Mexico, right here in Daytona Beach. We went to our own family cookbooks to find the right flavors and recipes. Our food is made fresh daily, with quality ingredients, including our salsa and Corn tortillas which are made in house. Tia Cori’s Tacos is a family-owned and operated restaurant and we take pride in our food and our friendly staff. Overall food is okay- not the best but definitely better than chains you topically run into- They are not a chain (my apologies for not clarifying). Pulled pork tacos are good, chicken ones are little bland and beef is good. Another good thing is that when you order 3 tacos you can mix and match. I expected slightly higher quality. Churros are actually very good- so no complaints there at all. You can sit outside which is beautiful and enjoy the breeze.

Food- I got the fish tacos, which comes with rice and beans, and a spicy margarita. The tacos were good; fish could have been a little tastier. The rice and beans were just okay. I came in very hungry, left extremely full.

This place was so good, I went twice in a weekend. There is a three taco plate for $10.99, specific to how you like with a choice of meat or protein, as they call it now. I got mexican style that means cilantro, onion, and a slice of radish. I chose soft corn tortilla. Lengua (the best), steak, and al pastor or pork. Lengua or tongue is the least common to find but the most tender and flavorful meat you could ever dream about. To me, it is the best! Great service, you order at the register and get a number, and the server brings it to you. When you pay with a card, you are prompted to add a tip. Cash does not, but always tip even if it is only half service, they are super nice people who work here.

Tacos were great but honestly it stopped there. Ordered a margarita that looked like Kool Aid. It was lime green with little to no alcohol and I would be surprised if it contained any fruit juice. Also ordered a sopapilla and horchata for dessert. Horchata was super sugary and colored like coffee and the dessert was not dough fried but tortillas cut up with hersey syrup on top. Was hoping for a taste of home and was disappointed.

Hopefully they were having an off day in the kitchen. Place is always clean and staff always friendly but the food has gone downhill. I’ve been coming to Tia since Corina used to run the register! It used to be great and good prices. My sour cream is always frozen that you have to pay for. They don’t give you the bottle of hot sauce at your table anymore and the chicken has been really dry the last few times. Rice and beans were cold and corn tortillas were super dry. It’s a bummer because I have so many good memories here and loved it but sometimes places just lose quality over time I guess?

The food is absolutely delicious fantastic flavors the bartender is obviously not familiar with how to make cocktails, I ordered rum & he gave it to me full of coke in a tumbler glass for 8.95 and it was so busy and he was so frazzled also taking orders I didn’t complian but felt jipped. The tables were not cleaned off, and only one waitress running around helping with diners request. If the food wasn’t so great, I wouldn’t go back.

Other than the location this place was amazing! I feel like the location gives you some shady vibes. I didn’t feel too safe leaving the car on the street but I’m also not a local. Looks can be deceiving. The inside of the restaurant was clean and colorful. The employees were super cool and mixed good drinks. I had the Cuba Libre which is like a Jack and Coke and my wife had The Senorita which was very flavorful. I had a chicken stuffed burrito, a huge burrito, and loved it. The Mexican street corn was really good too. We will be back when we visit Daytona again.

Now this is one heck of a hidden gem I found here in Daytona! Not only did I come here for Taco Tuesday with friends and family, I came to celebrate me and my brother’s birthday and it was well worth it! Tonight, I had some chips with chorizo queso dip and some darn good Birria Tacos to go with it as well. The Queso dip was super gooey and delicious and the chorizo made it into a flavor flurry. And let’s not forget about those Birria Tacos: broth was on point, and the tacos were the best I’ve had in a long time. They even gave me some of their hottest sauce the place had to offer and it delivered in every category. Our waiter, Jet, was an awesome guy and he put in the hard work despite the place being understaffed. And when they saw it was my birthday, I was given a tres leches which I loved dearly. Thank you all for making my birthday experience worthwhile! See you in the near future.
