This place serves a good meal. The bar itself appeared clean. The bathrooms were slightly neglected. Their service recovery was quite disappointing. We had eight people in our group. We needed to send back a Philly sandwich as the request for no onions wasn’t adhered to. Everyone in our party was done eating when the Philly sandwich showed up 30 minutes later. We will give this place another chance as the people in our group positively commented on the food.

Short version: Food is quite pleasant, cocktails are okay, staff is friendly, service itself is quite slow, the atmosphere is decent with a nautical 20s bit going on. I would still would most likely not return on my own, but would go if others initiated.

Enjoy a perfect evening on the deck of the totally renovated Bootlegers in Tomahawk on the Lake Nokomis Flowage. The deep history of this location is celebrated in the new decor and brings the authenticity of this once prohibition era hot spot to life. The lake life is amazing and adds to the perfect offerings from the kitchen and the bar. The experience is topped off with the excellence of attentive and friendly staff. Thank you!! If you want a delicious up north classy dinner this is the place. The drinks are perfect. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great dining experience, whether you are inside in the beautiful remodeled bar or dining room or outside on the deck. The food presentation and taste makes it all worthwhile. Maja is an exceptional chef and came to our table to make sure we enjoyed it. This is a dining supper club that has it all, water view, excellent food, drinks and people that want you to enjoy your night.

I was really hoping to have a great experience here, as we were with guests from out of state. First, this is NOT a supper club. Second, I would definitely not recommend this place. The positives: the decor is very nice; and the views of the lake are great. That’s it for the positives. Staff, including owner, were disorganized. We apparently were given someone else’s table (the place was empty on this Monday) and had to move? We were eventually seated next to the open kitchen door. There were less than a dozen options on the entre menu. Most were steak, with four other options. I had the fresh catch, which after I ordered they said they ran out (at 6pm on Monday night? ). One person had scallops, which the homemade pasta was nothing short of disgusting. We sent it back, and it was still overcooked and sparse. They also ran out of potatoes, another one of the oddities of the experience. For what we ate, this place is way overpriced and the total experience was awful. Would NOT recommend.

Very disappointing experience from the moment we entered to when we left, party of 7. No hostess so proceed to bar (per sign) where we stood watching employees watching us, but not offering assistance. We told one waitress we had a reservation so she proceeded to seat us at high top table in the bar area until the manager came up to say this was the wrong table, then they moved us into the main dining room, next to the kitchen entrance; there was only one other occupied table.
