The food is absolutely delicious, the restaurant is clean, and the service is great. That being said, I would recommend getting the food yourself from the buffet table as opposed to having the cook pack the food for you. In my case I requested jerk chicken with a side of white rice. It ended up being quite a bit of rice and not as much chicken as I had wanted, keep in mind that you pay by the pound so it’s a bit unreasonable to expect customers to pay $15 for mostly rice. This is the only thing currently keeping me from giving a 5 star rating.

I love the food here! Authentic Jamaican fare in the heart of Mount Vernon. Amazing Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat. They actually cook a lot of the meat outside on a huge grill! Tasted amazing and will be back many times.

I had the small jerk chicken with rice and peas, steamed cabbage and oxtail gravy over the rice. It cost 13.50 for the meal. Value-wise, pretty big portion. I think two light eating people could share this for lunch. I eat heavy and could’t finish a big piece of chicken at the end.

A small take out spot in a crowded unassuming little strip mall. The secret is the best cooks in the entire area are there! A really good variety of meats in delicious sauces, fish, chicken many ways, the absolute best mac & cheese, vegetables and my new addiction – Chicken Vegetable Cheesy Lasagna’, OMG! They serve very healthy size portions for your money too!

A SMOKING GRILL IN A PARKING LOT is what drew me into this deli. I had half of a chicken, grilled with a side of mild jerk sauce. Their jerk sauce is a cross between JERK and BBQ. It’s delicious, it’s as mildly sweet as it is mildly spicy. The dark meat on the chicken is juicy and tender while the breast is dry but accompanied perfectly by the jerk sauce. Definitely a stop to make, their jerk chicken, really good! Don’t forget to pick up a dissert. I highly recommend to try the carrot cake, I learned that they get their carrot cake from the famous Lloyd’s carrot cake (also another place to stop in).

Excellent as always. This small Jamaican or Caribbean restaurant is Great! I love the food. Service is great & they service some very good spirited patrons ☺️ all good.
