Racks Bar and Grill is Ely’s best choice for great food, spirits and ice cold beer! Ely’s only smoke free bar and grill. We do have an outdoor courtyard for seasonal dining where smoking is allowed. On Monday our grill is available 11am-2pm.

Racks is located on the original site of Greg’s Club. A local bar established in the early 1900’s. In 1990 Greg’s Club was leveled and Grub’s Club was built upon the site. Grubs club operated for 21 years before it was purchased by the present owners and renamed Racks Bar and Grill. Racks today, remains Ely’s premier bar and grill. Poor service: we ordered drinks from bar, never got them. Kids never got soda refills. Our food all came out at different times without explanation – we had to ask about the pizzas and were then told the story behind why they were not out yet. No one asked if food was okay or if we needed anything until the end when we told them it was not good at all. They did take one pizza off but left us to pay for the other burnt pizza.

Very nice dog friendly patio out back (go around the backside of the building). Killer cheese steak. Cold beers. Friendly service. Tons of street parking for my truck and trailer. What more could a person traveling with their dogs ask for.

Food is excellent and portions are large. I really like the Reuben sandwich. Homemade soup. Pizzas are really good, the have 3 different crusts available. Full bar and draft beers. Good place to watch sports. Clean bathrooms.

We first went to a restaurant on the other side of town…. but we waited and waited to be served…. so we left. We’re glad we did! The service was excellent…. everyone we met was very kind! The food was excellent! My guess is this is the best restaurant in ely! 😉
