Places like this make downtown Portland a great place for trying different foods.

One of the best places in Portland. A whole lot better than most, if not all, of the bigger/chain hot pot places. I’m definitely a no-frills person when it comes to ethnic food in a city like Portland (tons of places are gentrified to fit into some idea of upscale trendiness), so this place works out great.

The biggest problem is the old woman is either racist to Asians or racist to families with children or whatever reason. From the moment we were in the shop, she only said you have to split tables, you can’t merge tables. We were okay with that and split into 1 big table and two front bar seats, but later on she didn’t serve us for 1 minute. We saw her serve others well, adding water to other’s hotpot, talking like friends but she didn’t come to us for 1 second. She let other groups merge tables together as well. Only the old man serve us politely. The food is very low quality, few choices and meat is too thick to chew, source bottles were dirty and had very few choices, we Asians knew a proper hotpot restaurant has way much much better quality than this and there is no air conditioner in shop for a hot pot restaurant. Seriously you have to be careful of sweating into your food. And they charge our 6 year’s old children as adult price and 1 year baby $2 dollar as well which never happens in our state.

The hot pot was very affordable. The broth is lighter on flavor, which may be your preference if not they do have plenty of sauces that can add more flavor to the broth such as peanut sauce, sesame oil, etc.

Excellent food in a straightforward, no frills setting. Service can take a bit, but is well worth the wait. Awesome array of meats, noodles and veggies to choose from. We’ll definitely be back.

First time here in over 10 years, I had to stop when I saw. Still excellent in all aspects. Unfortunately I was too hungry to take pics before I ate, but I cleaned my plate

We stepped in and saw the sign to wait to be seated. The employees eyed us but didn’t say anything. I waved, but they ignored it. We waited for 10 minutes just to be seated when there were visible seats open. We noticed that there was a “We have a right to refuse service,” and as a gay couple, we didn’t know if it was that or not, but we decided to leave. We ended up going to Happy Lamb in Beaverton, which was really good!

Ten out of ten! Go if you are able! (Any time I get hot pot is memorable, so I am biased as hot pot is my favorite food.) While the decor is not fancy, the food, service, and price is unmatched! I would say it is worth going out of your way to come here. It is no surprise to me that it has been voted best hot pot many times from many sources (wilamette week among others). The flavors are fresh, the portions generous, and as you get to choose your own broth, sauce, and ingredients: you can make it how you like it! Not to mention fountain drinks included in the price. I ate alone today so there are plenty of options for solo dinging, but also excellent tables four groups (the more, the merrier!) I didn’t check to see if They had alcohol available but that would be nice for dinner. How much does it cost to have one of the best meals humanly possible for lunch? Less than twenty dollars!

This is a must eat at restaurant. The owners are super friendly, even Jack. The food is always fresh and good. They are very Covid-19 conscious. The place is always spotless clean. Great place for lunch and the prices are very reasonable. It is also all you can eat!

They need a lesson in customer service. Rude reception and overall attitude towards our group considering most of us were not familiar with the style of service and cooking. They should explain either verbally or in print what and how to prepare the orders. Customer beware as one can easily burn themselves on the cookware and an explanation on how long one needs to make sure the ingredients are cooked safely to be consumed. If customer gets sick due to uncooked food, can they be liable because of lack of explanation? Broth used had no taste that one needs to “dump” a lot of soy to give it some taste. Not planning on returning anytime soon.
