70% of the large oxtail platter was fat and the end bits of the tail. Found a plastic sticker from the produce they use in the Mac and cheese also which was a pleasant surprise. I spent $60.00 for two orders and it was such a waste.

This was a large order of oxtails . I wanted to split it between todays dinner and tomorrows dinner. Until, I learned that the order consisted of 6 oxtails and as you can see an abundance of rice. The flavor was awful . I’m not sure how to pinpoint-perhaps lack of freshness , missing key ingredients . I won’t order that dish again . I usually order the jerk wings and they do ok there for the most part .

This place has amazing food. The oxtail was delicious. The Pinapple Ginger drink was amazing. The place has a constant flow of people in and out of here. Great food.

I use to go here before the upgrage to a restaurant years ago. The food was better then. I got the combo platter for $26. There was more rice than anything. Definitely need gravy on top.

I been eating here for years. I make a 30 minute plus commute for them . Food always taste the same, flavorful, tender and not dry. This the only carribean spot I will eat at I don’t care what other people recommend. People complaining about the food being more rice but other cultures do the same thing LOL. I’m being loyal to jam doung.

My favorite place to get Jamaican Food. I drove an hour from northern VA 1-2 times a month. The service is great and it’s fast no matter how busy they are. The jerk wings are my favorite!

I really wanted this to be a good experience but, unfortunately, it was not. I ordered the escoveithched fish, rice and peas, cabbage, a side of plantains, coco bread and some desserts. While waiting for my food to be prepared, I asked for my coco bread. It was warm but it tasted nothing like what I know coco bread to taste like. I mentioned my dissatisfaction to a staff member and she gazed at me and said “okay” and then walked away. The coco bread tasted like a plain slice of bad white bread.

Wow. I was pleasantly surprised by this spot on North Capitol. I got the medium jerk chicken w/ rice & peas and cabbage. Packed with flavor, the dark meat was juicy and the gravy took it to the next level. I was incredibly impressed with the balance of heat. Not all that spicy but just enough to get the nose runny. For $20 I got a delicious lunch in less than 10 minutes. Finally the restaurant owner created such a homey environment that it made me feel like I was already a regular. Top notch.

Very little beef in the patty. I placed my order on the kiosk, was charged a processing fee && gratuity!! Why is gratuity automatically included after placing the order myself?
