I found this restaurant on Google and decided to give it a try. On 3/10, I ordered a Shrimp Po Boy to go. The shrimp were well seasoned. I would’ve liked more sauce on the sandwich. The restaurant was a small storefront in a mini mall. It was kind of dark to me which made it a little uninviting. There are a few tables for dine in. The service was good. They gave me a time to come back and it was ready at that time. The sandwich was made to order. I liked that. The last thing I want is fried food that’s been sitting in a basket. Overall, I’d try them again

Found this place off google looking for seafood while we were in that area.. 1st time ever having gator bites and they was off the hook, the soft shell crab poboy was pretty good but let me tell you about the seafood mac n cheese- so flavorfull and amazing- started with a small and waited for the new batch to be finished to grab another of both the gator bites and a large seafood macn cheese to take with is. Grabbed us some red velvet cake and a strawberry cheesecake bowl to take home.

The shrimp po’boy had a true New Orleans flavor. The shrimp seasoning and their special sauce really brought me back to the crescent city. The best I’ve ever had outside of Louisiana. Great job

Friendliest service around- food is delicious and we are trying our best to work tough the menu! The oysters melted in your mouth , seafood Mac and cheese was so creamy! Top it off with their snow cones . Every visit has only gotten better- glad to see a small family type business doing so well- hope they’re around for a long time!

Kind of a little hole in the wall place. Drove past it twice because I couldn’t see their sign near the top of the strip mall type facade. So it’s a little bit of a higher effort to find. Food was freshly cooked to order and tasted like what it was actually supposed to be for the most part. Personally I believe such is a somewhat rare thing for establishments similar to this one. Shrimp was a top recommendation from me. The sausage po-boy though, the sausage tasted about like the spices were not correct. If you’ve ever had a Gyro then you’ll recognize the meat taste. Again it wasn’t bad just unexpected. The down side of the whole thing was the drinks on offer. Cans only (only Coke products) or bottled water. If you drink it all before you get your food, have to buy another. It was also edging towards uncomfortably warm inside the building, I believe due largely to age of the building’s AC system and that on the particular day it was easily 100+f. Hot day, old AC equipment, non partitioned kitchen, yeah warm inside could be expected. Overall the experience will put good tasting food in your belly and maybe make for a local flavor kind of story to anyone passing through. Not super awesome but not “I can’t be drunk enough to come here again”. Basically this: Are you hungry? Do you have some money but the place that sells gut grenades by the sack full seems like a punishment too far for your intestines? This place will fit nicely.

Misleading and deceiving. I ordered a fried rib plate and they gave me cut up over fried pork chop for $20+. I know my meats and I did not have ribs. Fried pork chop is not on the menu. I really wanted to try out fried ribs, I’ll cook it myself. No cornbread muffin to eat with my greens so I threw them away. They gave only a small portion of regular macaroni and cheese. On my seafood platter they gave me smushed up onion rings and I had to throw them away. My hush puppies were missing and they charged me close to $30 and was missing oysters (replaced for 6 additional small shrimp) that tasted “okay”. They had just opened and did not have any seafood macaroni, red beans and rice, cornbread muffins, hush puppies, or oysters that was displayed on the menu. I will not return. I am a foodie from Louisiana and know quality.

I’ve ordered the oyster plate twice! Oysters is my favorite food so I’ve had my share. These may be the best fried oysters I’ve ever had! Everything is just right; from the batter and texture, to the remoulade sauce. They even brought my order to my car as I ordered it to go. Order from here and keep this local jewel in business!

Man let me tell ya, you wanna get you some good southern food stop here! Me and my girl stopped here one day after shopping and grab some gator bites and i forgot what she got lol but those MF gator bites was off da chain!! And the SWEET TEA……. straight pressure lawd have mercy. The couple who runs this business also the same two who does all the working and cooking was very down to earth. After eating we chopped it up a bit and I learned it’s some very hardworking ppl in this world and they are one of them. Very professional and respectful, if you ever get a chance to stop by here do it. 10 stars it is.

Wonderful experience here at On The Bayou. This is a great restaurant addition to the local area. I had a very delicious oyster po-boy and their fries were outstanding. I would only suggest asking for a little extra mayo/dressing on your sandwich; otherwise, the food was really, really good! The service inside was quick and very friendly. I would recommend this place to others and will be returning back for more!

Great Food. Excellent Taste. Cooked to Order. Reminded me of the Fresh Catfish that I experience when I visit New Orleans. Will return again!
