Every time I come in for lunch I’m greeted in a friendly way. I’m given a glass of water, told the special of the day, given time to look over menu and make my choices. I’ve yet to have a bad meal regardless of what I choose. My latest visit, May 4th, was the special of the day which was a salmon patty that was delicious!! As always, my waitress, Jessie, gave me ample time to enjoy my salad before bringing out the main course. Then I am always given plenty of time to eat before my bill is brought out. My latest visit was enjoyable in every way possible.

Had a great experience with my friends. We shared an order of chicken livers and garlic cheese bread. I don’t know their secret to how the livers don’t have an irony taste but they’re great. The bread was soft with just the right amount of cheese and garlic. Two of my friends got a bowl of New England clam chowder. It smelled wonderful and they both enjoyed it. Another friend ordered cod dinner which came with a side of moscaccoli with red sauce. The red sauce had no herbs or spices and it was very bland. That’s why 4 stars instead of 5. Our waitress was a hoot. She had a great sense of humor and just the right amount of sass to make our experience enjoyable. I got a pizza to go but ate a couple of pieces. Still one of the best.

This place has the best chicken livers! Although some things seem to not be as good as I remember from years ago. Pozzi salad was excellent too, but did not care for our veal Parmesan and eggplant parmigiana. Looks like a remodel may be coming soon, they appear to be working on the building which would be great because the place could use some updating. Service was excellent though, our waitress was very attentive and pleasant.

We got breaded artichoke, really good with a little salt. A side salad, the blue cheese was superb. Thin crust pizza tomato, bacon, sausage.

Traditional, family-owned place serving up very good steaks, fried chicken, St. Louis-style pizza and ditto Italianesque dishes. Full bar, attentive service. Cool, dark, and inviting on a hot summer’s day, warm and cozy in the winter (without being truly romantic in the date sense). Great place for groups, and kids will enjoy themselves too. Reasonable prices. A regular go-to for many families for generations. Some interesting things on the menu that are otherwise hard to find (think frog legs). Check it out!

Been around a long time, staff is very friendly, food was excellent. Because it’s located in lower level (basement atmosphere) it’s dark and small but a great local hidden gem. Worth visiting!

Had a very nice evening meal at Pio’s. Jennie was our server and provided excellent service. The lasagna was excellent. The blue cheese dressing was most excellent. The atmosphere at this restaurant is very relaxing and worth your time to visit.

Pio’s is a restaurant gem in St. Charles. Their menu satisfies every palate and every dish is delicious. From their appetizers and salads to their entrees and pizza, you can’t go wrong.

The entree was fantastic …. the salad was maybe the most boring salad I’ve ever had at an Italian restaurant . The waitress literally forgot to give us her silverware it first and then forgot again when we had dessert…. lol
