Awesome! Best crab cakes I’ve had since the 90’s. The only place that bested them was in Jefferson PA and the guy went out of business because he didn’t charge enough. I have never liked hush puppies in almost 60 years. I would have never ordered them but Bec Shaffer is a vegetarian. I do have to mention it is not a vegetarian friendly menu. Everything in this restaurant is home made or made from scratch. The cole slaw was so delicious and I was told the secret ingredient is cinnamon. The hush puppies come with honey butter. I had salad with homemade croutons, which were delicious. The service was impeccable. Drake stated he had only been working for a few days as a server. The owners have something special to give to this community. I was able to speak to one of the owners briefly. We arrived before the dinner rush and while we were eating, there were people waiting for a table. I hope you guys are ready because it’s going to be a wild a ride.

This is a small little place in an inconspicuous strip mall but don’t drive by. The owners have owned the original Ragin Reef in Maryland for 13 years and recently brought their fantastic style of seafood to Pinellas County. Ambience is casual but nice. Food was amazing! REAL lump crab in their crab cakes with very little filler. Jumbo scallops were perfectly cooked. Tacos had a bit of Ragin sauce kick which made them different than the standard fish tacos we frequently find in this area. The staff was extremely nice and the owner / cook came out to see how the customers enjoyed the food. A real Mom & Pop experience. Go support a great small business and enjoy great food in the process. I must say prices a bit high but with cost of quality food these days it’s totally worth it.

My husband and I are down from Rhode Island and decided to try this place for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. Cricket, our waitress, was excellent. The place is clean and the food was delicious. My husband had a crab cake sandwich with sweet potato fries, I had the shrimp tacos with fries. Very good! We even brought home their homemade key lime pie for later. We definitely recommend Ragin’ Reef!

We just ordered the jamalaya was delicious. I love how the rice is cooked separately from the sauce and seafood. Fluffy seasoned rice under a delicious bed of toppings. Hush puppies calamari and the shrimp appetizer was as good as it gets also. Definitely will return very soon.

Came in for lunch today and was not disappointed with the food and service. This was our second time visiting Ragin Reef. We started with the Lobster Queso appetizer – it was excellent! For lunch I had the fried shrimp basket and my friend had the fried scallops. The food was very fresh and served hot. The sweet potato fries were served with honey butter – they went well together. The owners were great and the food was fabulous! Wishing them success with their new restaurant. We will be back very soon for another lunch!!

I love Maryland crab and the crab cakes at Ragin’ Reef are spot on. Filled will delicious crab every bite was perfect We also shared the calamari appetizer- prepared perfectly- juicy and perfectly flavored unlike many over fried and tasteless at other restaurants
