I love all of the dishes I ordered. I did had higher expectations in the duck. The other dishes: lotus, watercress, and pork belly cucumber was super delicious. They also gave me a birthday dish which was a soup. The service was great and I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant. Unfortunately the duck wasn’t warm enough and not as crispy as imagined.

Fantastic atmosphere, a bit on the upscale side but great nonetheless.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Boston area if you consider food, service and setting/atmosphere. It is a modern and high end (with reasonable price) Chinese restaurant that is more like what you typically have in big cities in China nowadays but not the typical American Chinatown restaurant.

Visited this restaurant out of curiosity right after watching a movie at AMC Boston Common, and it was definitely one of, if not, the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever visited in Boston. The food was amazing, the Peking duck tasted heavenly delicious, might be the best duck I’ve ever eaten. The service was also fast and responsive.

Great interior design and decor in a historical building. Great vibes and good service. However, food quality needs some improvement. Dining wares are high quality. Crab tofu was using too much tapioca flour and pork meat balls are too salty. Vegetable salty pork fired rice tastes great. Golden soup napa also refreshing. Golden chicken soup doesn’t really have chicken taste. Manager offer complementary dessert since I told him the pork meat balls tastes really salty. Overall good service and many Jiangnan style dishes to choose from.

Love the food here, Peking duck was really crispy and they cut the duck on the spot. Ambience is really good spot for a family dinner or date spot. Service was good and there wasn’t any line to wait on when we got there around

It’s great to see more food from the Yangtze River Delta in Boston. While this place isn’t cheap, you get what you pay for in more ways than one. All of the dishes we ordered were tasty and nicely presented- particular standouts included the home style crispy fish and Peking duck (which, in spite of the name, has some historical ties to Nanjing). I’d recommend getting the duck bone soup pairing with the Peking duck- which makes it a relatively decent value. Service was attentive and knowledgeable in both English and Mandarin. The space itself is airy and elegant. The only downside currently is they they don’t yet have a liquor license, but I understand they’re currently working on that and should have a fuller drink menu in the future. Overall, I’d recommend Jiangnan, particularly for celebratory or special occasions.

My 1st time to dine here, I didn’t have any expectations but the dishes were executed well with right amount of seasoning. The servicers were busy but good. Although this is typically Chinese restaurant but it had a lot Asian were dining there. I have allergies of MSG I usually get sleep or thirsty after I didn’t have it which I am glad.

Jiangnan, a shining addition to the city’s Chinese culinary scene, genuinely lived up to its hype.
