Not sure how they got a good Zagat review or otherwise. This place lacks good food or a good atmosphere. I sat at the sushi bar and ordered an Avocado Boat and Chirashi Zushi. The Avocado Boat looked like brains on dish (which is fine), but the crab meat and spicy tuna was packed solid, dry, and lacked seasoning. The avocado base was an unappetizing brown color. The Chirashi Zushi was an even bigger miss; the rice was warm and unseasoned leaving the fish warm and basically unedible. The slices were of uneven thickness, and fairly tasteless. In terms of atmosphere, I saw one chef make nigiri then disassemble the half finished dish to make my Chirashi, the other one kept picking at his face – how unsanitary. I also watched them sweep and mop while I ate at the bar. Frankly, a very disappointing dinner at a well reviewed place.

This place has great sushi, they have a good selection on the menu and prices are reasonable. What is really lacking is the service. To start, there is never enough wait staff. When the restaurant gets just mildly busy the service is really poor. The staff are overworked making them act rude more prone to making mistakes.

The sushi was not what I expected and it lacked flavor. One of the rolls I ordered, I could not eat. To add to the experience, my friend and I became sick shortly after, which was alarming, considering we ordered different rolls and did not share food.

I got the Salmon teriyaki and my mom got the ocean breeze sushi role. The salmon was enough to split with my dad and the sushi was very good and fresh!
