My review is about the store itself not about the taqueria counter. They are expensive for what they sell & the pricing that’s marked on the shelves is lower than what they charge you at the register. I had to literally tell the cashier on about 4 items that the price ringing up was wrong, reduced my total $3. Imagine all the people the do this to. And their prices are already higher than your typical grocery store

Their hours state they close at 9pm, at 8:41pm the doors were already locked and she was counting money, I knocked, she motioned “no more” and ignored me. Why even have hours for 9pm if they don’t stay open until closing time? About 2 people showed up after me and were turned away too. Ridiculous. Horrible service, this is not the first time.

If you are in the Katy area and like authentic Mexican Menudo you will not be disappointed. They sell a small for 8 dollars and a large for 16. The small is plenty big. The Menudo is the best I have had asides from when I make it. The only downfall is they don’t add to much hominy.

Its so hard to find good Menudo. I usually go to Tortilleria La Real #5 (La Reyna). I ordered a medium it comes in the clear plastic container that you get soup and stuff in. It was $11.99. The large which comes in a large clear container is $20. It didn’t come with the spices that I usually get though. The Menudo was tasty and it had Hominy Corn in it which was a huge plus for me. I will go back when I work on a Saturday again.

It is a mini market with a very good variety of mexican and Latin products. I even found Carne Seca (dried beef) Monterrey Style. In its cafeteria they have delicious Barbacoa and Carnitas Tacos, be aware their maiz (corn) tacos have a very decent size and plenty of filling so one taco could be considered equivalent to 2 tacos . Their Menudo it is delicious too.

You can tell the ladies that cook the food take pride in their food. The tacos pastor are fabulous. Cooking area is clean salsa taste fresh. People that work there are super friendly!
