Don Pancho had a vision to create a fast casual Mexican restaurant that would provide true Mexican flavor. This is how the Palenque chain was born. Originally from Sinaloa, Mexico and now a U.S. citizen, Don Pancho originally founded El Pollo Loco© which was a success that led him to open his first Taco Palenque® back in 1987 in Laredo, Texas. Taco Palenque® is mainly known for its authentic Mexican tacos.
It has become the ultimate place to spend time with family and friends while enjoying a meal. In fact, positive word of mouth has had a major impact on our satisfied customers. There are several Taco Palenque® locations operating throughout the south region of Texas and are continuing to grow.

Good food and good michelada. Didn’t get to try as much food but my quesadilla was delicious. Everyone I was with liked their food. Plenty of parking and seating available

I’ve been coming here for years I moved to Alamo Heights in 2011 and been coming here ever since of course I didn’t like when their prices went up but that was just part of the beginning of inflation but their food has always been on point. When covid hit just about every restaurant got a makeover or bar and this place here got a nice makeover. The inside is way nicer now with new tables and new chairs and a new floor just making it very much better the only thing I don’t like about it but they do to listen to you is that it is super cold in there but I talked to the manager they already know me but they’re super nice there and I talk to the manager and they turned down the AC as soon as you asked so that’s why I still given five stars because they literally listen to you they won’t tell you like “oh we have to leave it that way because everybody else likes it..”

Food is pretty good. The beef or chicken fajitas are excellent, rice and beans ok. Service is excellent and diner is well kept up. Not to busy during hrs of 2:30 4pm but this place can be very busy. Especially in the evening. My only complaint is it’s a little expensive if it were a little cheaper maybe 14.00 bucks for plate and drink I’d give it 5 stars but besides that no complaints. You can find better deals in town, just have to know where to look…

The night I came here must have been a bad night. I’m giving two stars only for the freshness of the food. Too many things went wrong. And because most employees speak Spanish the language barrier to explain what was wrong would’ve took way too long while I was on my break at work (even if I used a translation app). Looking at my receipt you can see what I ordered. For whatever reason I was charged two different sized drinks and not one. I also asked for a fajita quesadilla. When I opened the foil I thought to myself “Man! They gave me a taco.” After the first two bites I realized I hadn’t bit any meat. When I opens it there wasn’t any. They instead gave me a CHEESE TACO FOR $5!!!! And the size of guacamole was a 4oz container for $3!! I could’ve went to H‑E‑B, bought my own avocados and made guacamole for myself. When my food was finally brought to me I told the guy he charged me two drinks (I should’ve known better when he tried to hand me two drinks at the window and started tapping around in the computer). I couldn’t make out everything he was saying but it sounded as if I’d receive a refund for the second drink in 2-3 days. I never received it. I don’t like talking bad about people or places but when you run a business or work in the restaurant business I think people need to be more diligent and mindful about the consumer and the money being spent. We live in a world where everything is costly now and money should be spent wisely.

We were hesitant because we thought it was a generic Mexican taco place, but this place was right on. The food was great, the meat had good flavor and they were generous with the food portions. They also have a salad bar filled with a variety of salsa, mild, medium, and hot, hot yikes, grilled onions with jalapenos, all you can eat chips. Another thing that impressed me about this place was the cleanliness. As soon as people left the tables someone was already on it cleaning it. The floors were spotless. Great place and good his of operations.

We didn’t stay…it was a very limited menu and my friend was looking for carne asada tacos and i wanted a quesadilla……but i will go back sometime for sure. The salsa bar looked great and the girl at the front counter was super kind……looks like you order at counter…take a number and they bring your food out…..

Coming to St Antonio to pick up my other son, we stop for a quick bite and went to this location. Was my first time to me, electronically you order then you get your food ar your table , has salad bar for chips, salsa, guacamole, etc. It was a good experience but what I enjoyed the most was the service. This older Hispanic lady was cleaning and serving with a smile and very polite. She is a example to the younger server who are sometimes looking unhappy. The flan was delicious and my enchiladas suizas too, along with the fajita burritos. We were there around 11:00 pm yesterday. 08/11/23. We will be back.

” to Taco Palenque at 1002 NE Interstate 410 Loop, San Antonio, TX! I must sing praises about the truly excellent service and food quality at this location. The staff consistently exceeds expectations with their warm welcomes and kindness, making each visit more memorable than the last. And let’s not forget the star of the show – their Matamoros tacos. Bursting with flavor and crafted to perfection, they never fail to delight my palate. Truly a must-visit for any taco aficionado out there. Keep up the outstanding work, Taco Palenque!”
