A nice little local place. The food was alright for the price. There were some hits and misses. The pulled pork was great. We even saw huge cuts of hickory wood outside getting ready to be smoked. But other things were less great; the black eyed peas lacked any seasonings, the hush puppies were burnt and hard on the outside and not fully done on the inside. I’d try it at least one more time.

Always drove bye and smelled awesome so thought to give it a try. Ribs dry not much flavor and fatty . hush puppies nothing like the Carolina’s. Service was hit and miss. And they forgot one of our meats but where quick to get. Prices where fair and beer is cheap and cold. Most likely won’t be going back plenty of BBQ joints in town.

I am a huge fan of BBQ – but unlike many people who love BBQ I don’t think that there is any “right” way to do it – either it’s good or it isn’t. I went in REALLY wanting to like the place, since SWFL is lacking in good BBQ joints.

Ordered take out dinner for visiting family and everyone liked it. The slaw was the best I’ve had in a while. My son loved the ribs. No missing or incorrect items. I appreciate that the hot and cold items were separated, and the chicken caesar salad came with dressing on the side and hot chicken separated. Someone behind the line knows their stuff. Will be back.

Heard about this place from a friend of my mom’s. We had been there a few years ago. It was much better now. We had ribs, the pulled pork, brisket and the catfish. Everything was good and the coconut cream pie was great. Our waitress was very friendly.

I ordered the 2 meat and 3 sides. $15 The corn on the cob was soggy like it had been soaking for days. My friend gave back the Coleslaw he said it was one of the worst things he had ever put in his mouth. The ribs were fall off the bone but didn’t seem fresh more like leftovers. Brisket was ok with sauce. They should also pass out fly swatters to their guests. Definitely will not be back.

Was there yesterday with two work peers for lunch around 12:10. The place was not busy and we got seated immediately. The server was friendly and attentive. I got the rib plate with hushpuppies and coleslaw for $13.99. Plate was delivered in an acceptable time period. The ribs seemed dry and had very little flavor. The “original” sauce wasn’t to my liking and had a strange thick but soupiness consistency to it. The coleslaw was lacking in flavor as well. Hushpuppies were good. The chicken my peer got was a bit dry also per them. Again – the service was great and is the reason for the third star. Otherwise – based on food alone I would have given it two stars. It could have been an off day as this was my first time there. However – if this is the level of food quality I will not be back.

This used to be one of our favorite BBQ places in the Ft Myers area, but the food was very disappointing. The pulled pork tasted like it was boiled and tough with no smoke flavor. The fries tasted like they were out of a frozen food package and the service was just average. I would no longer recommend this place.

Although rather unconventional in my opinion for a BBQ joint, that biscuit was really good! The pulled pork lacked that deep smokey flavor I was craving so a good sauce was needed for me to really enjoy it. The baked beans were good, but the hush puppies were a little burned. The sweet tea had lots of sugar as I think it should. I was disappointed to not find mac and cheese nor Texas toast on the menu. Brisket is only available on Friday and Saturday and it is sliced instead of chopped as I would have preferred.

Nice thick slices of juicy brisket. Down side, it was only 2.5 slices of meat that didn’t really fill the small bun. Tables are nicely spaced in one large dinning room. They place seemed clean and staff was friendly.
