I will update this review after eating something else I was around and a pic of the BBQ pork got my attention (they didn’t have it) so I order the 4 pieces of the chicken to try out, ordered to go ($19) and I was expecting something more flavored but nahh just a regular grilled chicken..

We came from Virginia. The parking is Horrible. The environment was nice. Friendly staff and its a double level restaurant sit down. The chicken was nice and crispy and also the lechon kawali. I did not like the sisig or the pancit canton. The taste lacked the flair of authenticity. I have to admit tho that family size Halo Halo was my favorite. The price for $35 with all that yummy mixture and huge scoops of ice cream was worth every cent.

I thoroughly enjoy the experience of Philippine food with native Filopino ambience. The food was delicious and the service and atmosphere was great.

Like a home cooked meal! Food hit the spot. Everything was delicious. We were making the yummy sounds as we ate. We were a party of four and we shared chicken skin (it was hot and crispy) my daughter loved it over rice. We shared Nilagang baka (beef soup), Sinigang baboy (pork tamarind soup), and lechon kawali (friend pork) over white rice. Please see our photos. The service was outstanding. They made sure our waters were always filled. We asked questions about the menu and they were very kind and helpful. For dessert we shared ube ice cream and turon ala mode. We had left over and took it to go. We were pleased with everything. The bill was about $100 with tip and worth every penny. Will be back for sure.

This Filipino restaurant (a popular restaurant chain in the Philippines) offers authentic food and beverages. Clean and decorative dining area with an upstairs dining room which is great for larger groups. I always place takeout orders by phone (early afternoon on a weekday) and my order is accurate. Whomever I speak to is pleasant and repeats my order back to me along with an estimated pick-up time. Meals are a bit expensive, but taste delicious. Parking is definitely a challenge and the restaurant entrance is handicap accessible.

The only issue I’d say is parking is a huge issue for parties.

Family style dishes. Everything was flavorful. Nice dinning room and staff was very courteous. No beer/wine sold here. There is a parking lot right next door.

If you like Filipino cuisine or looking to try, then this is a good place to go. We visit here 2 times a year. Parking can be a challenge at this New Jersey location. I am not a fan of Jersey as the cities seem kinda rundown, but Max’s is a bright spot. Good food and they do have beer. Try the Sisig!! Very yummy!! They also offer various soups and dishes of Filipino origin!! Try it out. Located at 687 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey
