Great little restaurant! Been coming here for around a year to get breakfast. Lisa is the best servicer there is. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting an awesome restaurant where you have a little space around you with an very nice atmosphere! Food is great and priced fair compared to other establishments.

DO NOT DINE HERE! The owner makes up their own prices! We ordered the Deluxe Breakfast listed as $8.25 on the menu. They charged us $15.95 for adding chocolate chips on the pancakes! Of course we expect an up charge but almost $8 for chocolate chips is ridiculously steep. I asked for olives instead of tomatoes on my omelette, they charge $3. The waitress never told us about additional charges. Our waitress was new and not aware of these outrages additional charges. But the worst was the lady working the register to check us out was one of the rudest I have ever came across. She should not be working with the public. The “owner” Pete refused to come out a speak with us. They make up their own prices. Be prepared to spend $90 for a family of 4 for breakfast if you dine here. The place is in serious need of updating and a change in atmosphere for these prices! And they need some serious training on customer service. I do not recommend dining here.

Jonathan’s is hit or miss on food and service. It can be all over the board. I am not a fan of their seafood or turkey and dressing. The turkey and dressing could make you think Banquet and Swanson’s are actually pretty good in comparison. Club sandwiches with fries are quite good here, however. Breakfasts are fine and appear to be their main forte. Desserts in the dessert case are very expensive. It is recommended to be sure to check those prices before ordering and perhaps getting hit by sticker shock. As alluded to, service quality can go in any direction, from quite good to inattentive and rude. It is readily apparent that they have not put any thought or money into updating the building, which would help make it a more attractive destination. The restaurant is situated in a great location. It looks completely downtrodden and tired from the outside and is literally hanging on by a thread begging for attention to breathe new life to it. Enlisting the services of an interior decorator would work wonders in needed updates to the interior of the establishment and enhancing its ambiance.

Wow! A surprise occurred Sunday morning. The breakfast was excellent. Darnell is a great server. She knows the menu well and makes good suggestions. The omelet was fantastic and cooked just right. I hadn’t dined here in a few years. A pleasant surprise. Definitely recommend for breakfast.

Love that they claim to be a family restaurant but are 100% not family friendly. When we first walked in we weren’t greeted with a hi, how are you or hi, table for four. Instead it was her gawking that my baby wasn’t wearing any shoes saying “uhhh you know you’re going to have to carry him the whole time he can’t walk in here with no shoes”. Well considering he can barely walk I wasn’t going to have him walk in the restaurant anyways I replied to her yes, I know. Then our waitress acted super inconvenienced that we had two children with us. But my kids made less noise than the women in the corner running their money counter (they were counting money to bet on the card game they were playing, which I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to gamble in a restaurant but that’s besides the point). I went to take my baby to the restroom to change their diaper, and there was absolutely no changing table and had only one stall with a functioning lock. All the other doors couldn’t lock and anybody could just walk in on you, so I had to leave the restroom and go out to my vehicle to change my babies diaper to then come back in to finish my meal. And prices are ridiculous for a salad just a bowl of lettuce is over $10 want chicken on that salad add $6. Family friendly if everyone in your family is 55+. 10/10 don’t recommend. Save your money and eat at a steak house I promise it’ll be cheaper.

For all that money .was not worth the money .for their prices .outrageous .atmosphere is like they are under construction. Place look like it’s about to close up .when it could be beautiful. No care in it at all .can only imagine what the kitchen looks like .I would not recommend this place at all

Jonathan’s is a very expensive restaurant. It is a basic family restaurant that is very dated, but decent. Our server was very nice and put in our food the way we ordered it. The desserts are out front as you come in. They are small and not priced. I ordered a piece of chocolate pie that looked like a piece of Sara Lee or Mrs. Calendar’s frozen pie. It was cut sloppy and very small. They charged 8.00 for the pie. We had a simple burger and a sandwich along with the pie I ordered. The total bill for this little bit of food was 37.00. When I questioned the bill at the cash register, the clerk was rude and looked it me in a condescending manner. She said we ordered expensive things. How is a simple burger and sandwich expensive items? I have no clue.

I hadn’t been in years, but I’ve been going here since before it was Tryon house. This time I ordered a cheeseburger, it was good.. no complaints about it, and the hush puppies are fantastic, but my aunt and grandma ordered some type of sea food, they didn’t like it very much.. They both love the place though and went every weekend before c19.. I do miss the duck pond but I love the artwork that was painted on the inside . You should visit and eat at least once if only just to look at the paintings on the inside walls while you eat, beautiful.
