We’ve been coming here for a number of years now and have enjoyed it. It’s a casual sushi restaurant (although they call it a “dojo”) that offers some new twists to the sushi experience, including sushi burritos! If you’re not a fan of raw fish, they have plenty of other protein options as well ranging from steak, bacon and chicken. Every time we enter, we get a “Welcome Ninja!” greeting. It’s a great value for what you pay as well, with generous portions.

Decided to try this neat looking restaurant for lunch. We had a difficult time getting the order kiosk to cooperate. The staff did not greet us nor help us with our ordering. The machine ask for a cell number to notify you when your order is ready. To be honest I do not want to give my number out. So we asked the staff if their is another option and received a “Deer in the Headlights” look and no help. I’d rather give my name for my order. This should be updated on your system. The bathroom was out of soap and paper towels. In regards to your “Hot Rolls Survivor’s”, what is it? Nothing is posted to explain this in the restaurant. And your staff was not helpful yet again. The concept and art of this place is great. The food was fresh, hot and very tasty. But food alone is not what we look at. Lacking human interaction and relying on a computer is sad. Staff that is not friendly or energetic nor informed is bad.

I used to love having lunch in this place and dropped in today to grab a bite for dinner only to find it was nothing like what it used to be. Not only was I not greeted by the usual Welcome Ninja! from behind the line but apparently now you have to order through a kiosk that limits you to specific bowls. Not only did I enjoy making my own bowls every time, but it was always a busy and friendly atmosphere. Today there was one large family at one of the kiosks trying to figure out what they wanted and how to use the kiosk. Unfortunately, since they’ve lost the efficiency of a subway or chipotle, style line, I knew I was gonna be waiting 15 to 20 minutes for the two guys behind the line to make six dinners for the family in front of me. I left without ordering, so I can’t tell you the quality of the food.

I’ve visited Sus Hi many times before so today we decided to go because they had sushi rolls for only $4.20; usually it’s about $6.50. I got 2 vegetarian rolls (cucumber, avocado, tofu & cream cheese) with lots of toppings and spicy mayo/sesame ginger sauces. I liked how they brought out a different board to make the vegetarian sushis in and used separate knives/rolling mat, as not to cross contaminate with fish and meat. The person making the rolls also changed their gloves; I appreciated that. The roll itself was delicious as always. The staff members were really friendly and enthusiastic, which is nice to see. I will definitely be returning again!
