Always our go-to when we want to pick up some filling food to eat at home! Sometimes we eat-in as well. Pickup time is reasonable, about 20 minutes. The rice always looks nice & bright. The food is definitely fresh & we also enjoy their desserts! The staff is easy to communicate with when you call your order in. One tray is definitely enough for a family of 4 & you’ll be able to have seconds!

More and more Portuguese and Spanish Barbecue restaurants are coming to your neighborhood. This one is Bound Brook. The menu is usually typical with chicken, pork ribs, beef short ribs and maybe some other ethnic dish. The entrees come with rice and fries. Prices were normally reasonable but, with inflation have gone up dramatically. Still a bargain compared to fast food chicken restaurants. This establishment doesn’t have a liquor license so bring your wine and beer. Food was fresh and we had the chicken and beef short ribs. They have a takeout section, dining area as well as an outdoor section. Plenty of onsite parking.

So I usually don’t do this but today , I had enough and I took the time to post about this place throughout the years I’ve been a customer. used to be a good place to eat but now they always give me attitude, especially the girl that gives you your order at the cashier which is usually the wrong order or never put hot sauce even though you asked her 3 or 4 and now they don’t even put any sauce in your order , I will never come back to this place and I will definitely not recommend it to anyone else

I went there this evening. I called in my order prior to going there. I had ordered spareribs, rice and red beans. I get home and found out they gave me the wrong order. They gave me steak and fries. I was so disappointed. I would have taken it back, but I live in Somerset and they are located in South Bound Brook. Also, it was close to their closing time. I did call and let them know they gave me the wrong order. I understand they were busy, but they need to find a new system so they don’t give the wrong order to someone else. They should write on the bag what the order is in the bag.

I enjoy eating at Portuguese. Barbecues. This was my first visit to 28 barbecue and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the Portuguese sausage sandwich which came with a huge amount of fries. It was very nice day so I ate outside on the patio. All this contributed to a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend 28 barbecue.

Delicious Food. First time ordering from them through DoorDash and I was impressed with the result. The serving is big enough to feed 2-4 People.The chicken, beef short ribs and pork ribs were all tasty and perfectly cooked. I’ll be ordering from them again.
