This review is for sushi only. We had a dinner reservation for 2 for 8:00 pm on Friday, 3/24/23. We made the reservation on Seated, an app where you earn money back on meals at certain restaurants (use my code erin2109 and we both get $10!), so we got a percentage back! There were plenty of open tables. Plenty of parking! Service was quick.

Smaller, intimate restaurant with patio. Main sitting area slightly blocked by their wine display/sales tables. Ordered a large spicy Tonkotsu ramen, a large Udon noodles, and spicy tuna roll. The noodle bowls and ramens were quite small for their “large” size, less than what you would expect at any Japanese restaurant. Udon was flavorful and simple.

I’m so disappointed that I have to write this. I HATE writing bad reviews… my husband and I are sushi lovers and not sushi rolls, but Nigiri and sashimi. We have traveled all over the country and had sushi at some of the most amazing sushi restaurants. We were so excited to eat here and we’re left extremely disappointed in what we received. The fish was fresh, no doubt, so I’ll give them credit there. However, I know how most of the fish we got is supposed to taste and it did not taste like … anything at all. We were both left flabbergasted at how bland it was. I’ve had sushi from publix that was better.

Amazing sushi! The sushi here is so fresh and yummy. The uni special was beyond amazing and so were all the other plates we ordered. Will definitely come back during weekdays for the omakase and other dishes that are not offered on the weekends.

Simply amazing. The nigiri and sashimi were both outstanding! The sashimi portion size was on the small size but the quality was wonderful. The waitstaff were very knowledgeable and courteous. This is my new goto place for sushi in Atlanta.

Intimate inside seating but delicious rolls! We came here since we were in that part of town but the food was worth bringing me back ITP to experience again. Love how they named many of the rolls after some of the major companies in the area.

I met my daughter here for dinner and it was my first time visiting. Great food. Staff was very friendly and funny. We closed the place down, lol. I’ll be back for omakase, so if that is what you want, you have to call or reserve a table online prior. I wanted to try theirs, but I did not call ahead. I definitely next time because the other guests said the omakase was great.

Our family has been dining at Taka for over a decade and it never fails to impress. The Sandy Springs location is warm and welcoming and Taka and his team are wonderful. Such care and effort taken with every dish! Must try: spicy crispy Tuna, sashimi of any kind w his famous wasabi pickles, tuna tartare, okra sashimi app during the summer as a special, CNN roll, Lobster tempura roll, popcorn okra, cucumber salad and Brussels. All of Taka’s sakes are wonderful and the fresh fish is amazing. Definitely pay attention to his specials though. They are always a unique gourmet treat!

The fish was incredibly fresh, and the selection features fish from Tokyo that you don’t often see on menus. The sashimi preparations (the accoutrements, like spicy pepper and more) were perfectly paired.
