In town for a friends wedding and drove to Hancock’s at my friends recommendation. I pulled in and the parking lot was packed, but I was able to get a booth immediately. They took my order and I did have to wait a little for the food, but the meat was all really tender and full of flavor. The was a bit of a vinegar style. I enjoyed the fried pickles and baked beans as well. The restaurant had a neat hunting theme. I would definitely eat here again if I’m ever in the area.

Great place to stop in and grab a bite. Their camp stew is phenomenal. Seating can be iffy so get there early. Driving a larger vehicle, I like the parking availability here.

Just passing through Selma, we decided to stop at Hancock’s for lunch. It was extremely busy, but the service was very good and a lot quicker than I was expecting for the number of folks there. My wife and I were quite pleased with the food. We both had BBQ platters and they were remarkable. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much. If we’re ever in the area again, we will definitely be dropping in again!

Busy little place which speaks well of the food. Had the BBQ plate with potato salad and baked beans. Thought the potato salad and beans were good. The BBQ was a little watery, but tasted pretty good. One dig is the menu says BBQ and doesn’t say what kind of meat it is, something I’d like to know. The price was very reasonable and the service was good.

New Review: (4 stars) Food was very good, I would suggest the BBQ, Hamburger Steak, and new Fried BBQ Cabbage. The only think the only thing I would not suggest is the new apple sticks. The manufacturer changed the style they make and they are not very good.

So good you’ll want more! And that’s where me and Ms. Hancock argue everytime I stop in (LoL). See, my favorite is the bbq plate with 2 slaws, but I frequently want that 3rd side that currently isn’t offered on the plate with 2 sides that has been Hancocks trademark ever since I can remember. Let me tell you why I have chose 2 slaws as both sides… It all dates back to my childhood when Selma had Mac’s Fish Camp and my Grandfather – God rest his soul – would take us for dinner… long story short, Mac’s caught fire and burned down but that famous slaw lives as one of the available sides at my favorite BBQ restaurant in the continental U.S. and yes, I’ve been to Kansas, Missouri and of course, Austin – and Hancocks in Selma, Alabama is where I go for my preffered Que! Family owned and operated, you get that atmosphere when you walk in the doors. You’re family to these fine folks on every shift and every day. The bbq has a special sauce – add as much as you like at the table and buy a jug to take home. If your like me and grew up in this neck of the woods, you’ll be reminded of the good ole days everytime you walk in and take a bite! If your looking for options other than bbq, try a burger, catfish or chicken tenders. There are new items available on the menu these days so stop on in and sample for yourself.

Pleasant atmosphere, you’re always greeted with a smile. I drive 30 miles, whilst passing numerous restaurants, just to taste their mouth watering BBQ. Your portion from just 1 sandwich could feed 2, but unfortunately something this delicious, would be against my constitution to share. So come get your own, it won’t let you down..ps..prices are great considering your portions
