IN 2005, THE ORIGINAL MAC’S PIZZA PUB IN CLIFTON HEIGHTS JUST OFF THE UC CAMPUS OPENED ITS DOORS TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE FIRST TIME.

Founded on the idea that old-world, hand-crafted pizza should be readily available and affordable, we became a hot spot for college students and locals to enjoy a fun night out without breaking the bank. And we never looked back.

We went for lunch over the weekend, originally we went because we had stumbled across an article about the pizza vending machine, unfortunately it was out of stock on everything. I’m sure that would have been awesome to experience, I mean who doesn’t want to order pizza from a vending machine?! Maybe next time. We tried the Don personal pizza and side salad. The pizza crust was so so good! The pizza as a whole was a great size for 2, not overly greasy and came out to us piping hot. I’d definitely recommend it. The side salad was good, usual make up. There is only negative issue, the dressing cup was partially frozen. No big deal. The back patio was awesome and just what we were looking for with the weather being perfect for the memorial day weekend. Prices are decent, parking is limited but overall I’d recommend them.

Went here to try out the new 24/7 vending machine I heard about recently… I think they have hit a home run with this machine! We ordered 6 cookies and a med cheese pizza…. both came out hot! The pizza was really hot! I have had mac’s inside the restaurant and it is delicious everytime, so I was curious about this machine and gave it a try, I can definitely say it is worth trying out! The entire order to food ready process took about 5 to 6 mins! Pizza was pretty good, pretty close to what is sold inside the restaurant when your pizza is made to order! I have no complaints as I would definitely order from again!! The pizza even came on a little thin aluminum style pan to help keep it warm!!!

This was my first visit to Mac’s. I met a group of friends there after an event. Mac’s is a decent bar with pretty good food. We were there on an early Saturday afternoon, not really the best time to judge a bar. It wasn’t exactly hopping, but our server Alexis was great. She got all our orders right and was Johnny on the spot with refills and drink orders.

I love Macs because they have good, affordable bar food, but hadn’t been back in a while. My fiancé and I came in today for lunch, and she ordered the Devil’s Breath wings. The GM, Patrick, came up, introduced himself, was extremely nice and personable. He even gave her tums for after she ate probably 5 of the hottest wing you can eat. Great service, great GM.

This place is all about late night 2.50 a slice, and being quick and easy. Copper sheets cover the bar giving the impression of a “real copper bar”. Few local beers on tap. Small 5 dollar pitchers available. Pool table can be found behind the bar. This place has room for improvement, definitely will come back during busier hours of operation.
