My wife and I are on a challenge to have a meal in every town in NJ. We chose Hornitos as our stop in Carteret (town #93) and we weren’t disappointed. The ceviche Colombiano was great as were the other dishes we tried. I see reports of bad service here on Google maps, but that doesn’t match our experience at all. The staff were very attentive and the food was served quickly. We’d definitely add this to the list of places we’d return.

This place has decent food. Busanka, which is in Port Reading, is better. The 4 stars are for the coffee and pastry. I see based on the other review that I’m not the only one who agrees that the service is bad.

so far I got the cheese breads my favorite. great service and tasty pan de quesos. I also order mango juice and they prepared it early in the morning which shocked since it was 6am. but over i recommend this place.

I really tried to give them a chance but their service just pushed me away. I only stop by their when I need a quick grab and just stick to coffee and Empanada. The multiple times I have tried them, they don’t treat English speaking customers with kindness but you will see a difference when they are dealing with Spanish speaking customers. I have tried to learn about different things they have in their display or other menu options but they don’t care to explain anything. I understand their is a language barrier but at least just smile.

Amazing food and cute atmosphere! Absolutely delicious guacamole and very friendly staff! The steak my mother had was cooked to perfection and the seasoning was on point! Definitely going to be our go to from now on when we want fresh and delicious, authentic food! A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I would give it 10 stars if I could!

Ordered From this place for the first time the food arrived exactly on time which is great however it arrived cold and inaccurate. When I called back to let them know they were unpleasant. The Churrasco steak and tostones were cold and rubbery. The beans were mostly water. Needless to say 1st and last time placing an order to this place. Staff and food deserve only 1star at the most.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. MY FOOD FELL OUT THE BAG WHILE I WAS WALKING TO MY CAR.I WENT BACK IN TOLD THE PREGNANT LADY SHE WOULD NOT GIVE ME A NEW ORDER AND TOLD ME ILL HAVE TO PAY AGAIN. THE FOOD WAS LITERALLY ON THE GROUND RIGHT OUTSIDE MY CAR.

Taste like pre-made microwaveable food you buy at the supermarket, terrible. The rice is plain tasting as well. Not Carne sudada at all. Didn’t even eat it such a waste of money and time. Would not recommend to anyone.

Very helpful and patient staff. My go-to baked good was sold out but the others I purchased were fantastic! Also had a steak arepa that hit the spot. The fresh orange juice too was heaven sent on the hot day. I hope to explore more of their menu and pastries when I come up to the area again.
