We had a great experience on Saturday 6/24. My wife and I celebrated our 34th anniversary at the Vault and it was a delightful experience. The room is spectacular as it retains all the original high ceilings, columns, marble, counters and fortified vault.

My second visit to vault was better than my first experience. Me and my spouse ordered the duck which was amazing. Drinks were good too. Food is a bit pricy but the atmosphere of the restaurant makes up for it.

I brought my wife here for our wedding anniversary. The atmosphere and service were amazing, but if I were to rate just based on the food it’d be 3 stars at best. 2 of our dishes were very over cooked, but the atmosphere and service brought up my opinion despite those flaws. The desert was fantastic (bread pudding), and I’d definitely come back just to eat that again!

This dinner was awesome in the truest sense of the word. This was our first time eating here, and I was a little hesitant when first arriving. We (4 with reservations) were seated at a large coffee table with 2 chairs and a couch. There were several small stackable tables around us. However, by the end of the meal, it didn’t prove to be an issue and was viewed by all in my group to be a glorious way to dine. (There were several hightop tables also available for more “traditional” dining.) The food is served in a tapas style, with some dishes larger. Each dish seemed to be better than the last (meatballs, shrimp dumplings, beef spare ribs, cheese plate, all with a flare of wonderful international flavors). The music created a wonderful atmosphere, and one could be forgiven for thinking we were in New York City. I was told by my fellow diners that the mixed drinks were outstanding. The service was second to none. Period. It’s a bit pricey if you do it right, but it’s worth every penny for a very memorable night out with great friends.

Stopped in for pre-dinner drinks and we’re disappointed. We ordered specialty cocktails and were a bit concerned when the bartender had to ask another person how to make them. They were also really weak. Unfortunately not what you expect for $16 drinks in Roanoke. We did enjoy the aesthetic of the restaurant and lobby and staff was friendly!

Roanoke has riches beyond riches in food and drinks – it has so much more than you’d expect of a town this size. The Vault unfortunately is not one of them. I wanted to love this place and was excited to see another higher end establishment open. However…it LOOKS cool and it wants to be cool, but as the best restaurants know, you need to deliver on something more than high ceilings to be an actually good restaurant or entertainment experience. Please note this is based on ONE experience and earlier on in the place opening, so it could have gotten better since then.

Our group of three met for dinner on a Thursday night. Our favorite dish was unanimously the Mushroom Udon and for dessert the Pot de Creme Au Chocolat which was heaven on a spoon and would be worth a visit in itself. Chef came around to inquire how we enjoyed the dishes. The interior is lavishly decorated and has both plush lounge and high top bar seating. The cocktails and the service were quite good. It was a bit loud for conversation after a certain point but unsure as to the reason. Acoustics? Does the music volume increase at a particular time? In short we had a nice time and all of us plan to visit again sometime.

My initial impression of The Vault’s food menu from just looking at it was that this restaurant can’t focus or decide what they’re best at. Needless to say, I ate my words this evening when it turned out that each very different dish we got was well-put-together.

This was our first time in Roanoke and wow did we get lucky. The Vault at the Liberty was a very intimate setting the small plates were out of this world, I felt like I was in a NYC upscale lounge. The service was spectacular and every dish the staff took extra care to explain it to us.
