We are new to Dixon and came here for the first time and absolutely loved it! We only wished our meals came with soup or salad, but everything was amazing and the staff was very friendly!

Obviously this place is super popular with sold out tables for hours. We were invited to dine at the bar and that was a great decision. Megan took care of us and made us feel at home, she is awesome. The food and drinks are delicious and the staff was very friendly. Megan even let us know there might be a tapas style dinning experience coming to the super amazing outdoor section. Would be so excited to try that and to rerun this restaurant again, thank you for a wonderful experience!

We were there on a Friday evening and while we were the only diners at the start it soon filled up, so make your reservations or get there early. Very little street parking, so plan ahead. There is a ramp up the side of the building for disabled access, or several stairs at the main entrance. Wonderful, helpful staff. Delicious Cheese Tortellini and Puttanesca sauce, lots of tasty capers! The Tiramisu could have used more coffee for my taste, but the whipped cream was delicious.

Nothing to complain about, good food and our server was very kind, engaging and attentive. Been there before and experience is always positive with food more than meeting desire for flavor with good presentation.

We have had a poor experience at Basil Tree, but I’m also a huge proponent of giving people a 2nd chance & overall, we’ve had a positive experience here…

Very nice Italian restaurant with really nice atmosphere. Historic building with fun hidden downstairs private dining space. Owner is wonderful. Food is fantastic!! Great find in our travels.

Good Italian food. Had the Lasagna, wife had Tortellini with Paesono sauce (I know I probably destroyed the spelling, sorry) Lasagna was flavorful. My wife enjoyed the tortellini, even though the sauce has peas in it and she hates peas with a passion. (She picked every one of them out of her plate just because she wanted the mushrooms in the sauce) walked in 15 minutes before closing but did not get rushed or made to feel unwanted like many other places. The server was among one of the most polite, respectful, and professional acting servers I have seen in a while.

The food here is delicious, but the experience is lacking if you have a large group. The service is pretty good and the management is great unless you want to pay separately. We had a group of 9 and they will not do separate checks for groups of more than 8. They said we could pay with as many different cards as we wanted, but then the bill wasn’t even separated by person. It took about a half an hour for us to figure out how much each person owed and get the bill paid. They said this is the easiest way, but we go out to many restaurants as a group and have not had an issue anywhere else. This way was not easier for anyone. If you have a large group I would avoid Basil Tree. There are many other places that are much more accommodating.
