My fiancee and I stopped here on our way back home after reading such good reviews about it and we were not disappointed. The fried chicken taste like my mama used to make and the mac and cheese and yams were to die for. My fiance had the vegetable plate and the cabbage was seasoned perfectly. Only disappointment was that the collards we wanted to try weren’t available. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely go back.

Listen, hands down this is the best soul food I’ve ever had. Man, everything is so delicious, fresh, tasty, and worth every penny you will spend. Lord, everything I mean everything is delicious. I am not from Sumter, I’m from L.A. from my experience everyone cooks differently. I have no idea what other people are talking about when it comes to this restaurant. I had nothing but a great experience! I went in on my lunch break on Tuesday. I had pinto beans, rice, mac n cheese and fried chicken. All I can say is..damn soo good!! The pinto beans tasted like something my mom made for us as children, I ate every last bite. Went to the mac n cheese next, every bite was delicious and as I got to the center warm and hot! The mac n cheese wasn’t salty(like other restaurants I’ve experienced with in the south) it was seasoned (to me) just right! I moved on to the chicken and it was AMAZING!! everything was thoroughly cooked and seasoned to perfection! I will be coming back during lunch again! Thanks so much!

Me and my sister was here today the food was very tasteful and moist and the chicken was season to perfection. the best soul food place in Sumter I recommend everyone to sit and eat there. The staff was polite and professional from the cashier to the cooks. Thank you for your great service.

Best fried chicken I’ve had in a long time takes it tastes like my mama’s fried chicken..Everything is homemade and I love all the trimmin’s that come with the dinner including the mac and cheese, black eyed peas and rice, and especially the sweet potatoes. Come in after 11am otherwise the food won’t be as good or you’ll have long wait because staff is just preparing the food which is reasonable. Anyway I think there’s better soul food places but for a good plate and some sides you could get it all for $10. Honestly I could have cooked this myself.!
