Love this new location!! It’s been a hit since they moved to S. 1st!! I went by today at lunch and it was SUPER PACKED but still quiet and comfortable. Food was Amazing as usual! Coconut tea is soo good and I highly recommend! Love the menu variety.

Food was alright could definitely need more seasoning the presentation of the plates were good,along with service was great. Recommend the coconut tea. We had appetizers the Cuban egg rolls and jalapeño poppers it was pretty good. Recommend for anyone trying to eat something different. The atmosphere was great.

Someone recommended Don Luis Cafe a couple of months ago, but I did not feel compelled to visit the restaurant judging from the outside. But I learned a lesson, “Don’t judge a book. by its cover,” that perfectly fits this restaurant. Their food is delicious!

Stopped in for lunch… I don’t live here but this was in walking distance and I found the food to be just what I needed. Looks like it would be a great place to bring a date. Really feeling the Latin atmosphere. I didn’t expect to get so full so soon. They give you nice portions. Would definitely come back if I am ever in the area.

I have loved coming to Don Luis for several years. Still do! And even though my favorite dish is sadly no longer on the menu (stuffed chicken relleno), I now have a new favorite and I had never enjoyed Cuban food until I tried their carne de res con papas. TO DIE FOR! I love the sauce the beef is slowly simmered in. I could drink it by itself it’s so good. If the pollo relleno hadn’t been taken off the menu, I probably never would have even tried this amazing dish. Keep up the amazing cooking of family recipes!

My wife and I tried Don Luis Cafe today. I remember when he was located on Buffalo Gap Rd. The new location is very central. Not much parking and a lot of restaurants have tried making a go of the familiar S. 1st location. The food was good. I ordered the beef fajitas but got the chicken instead, no biggie. My wife had a combo plate. For a lunch menu, the portions were very big and everything was fresh and hot. Try the coconut tea. PS if you wash the cast iron with dish detergent, don’t… I tasted a slight hint of soap in my fajitas.

Don Luis Cafe is the BEST! We walked into the clean spacious dining area and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The menu was organized and easy to read. Very much enjoyed the chips and salsa while we decided what to order. I had stacked enchiladas topped with two fried eggs, my wife ordered the deep fried avocados. The portions were large and the food delicious! We will be back and I highly recommend the Don Luis Cafe located on South First!
