We opened our doors over 10 years ago in Detroit when the economy was rough, the streets were quiet and everybody said we were crazy. We believed in Detroit when most people didn’t and we were right. There is no place we would rather be than right here in the city.
Our food ranges from classic Romanian dishes to middle-eastern concepts and American standards, each with its own unique twist. Everything is handmade in a traditional kitchen as it should be with original recipes that you won’t find anywhere else. Detroiters crave our shawarma, but those in-the-know dive deep into our menu for flavors you won’t fined else where.

This Bucharest is so disgusting. The food here is so salty and has a burned taste. I bought a 6 pack chicken sharwama and asked for garlic on the side and didn’t get it. I had to figure out what I was going to do with these 6 salty sandwiches. I had to force them down especially paying close to $45. Won’t eat here again.

We stopped at the Bucharest in Livernois ( “The Avenue of Fashion”) for lunch. This establishment is primarily an order and pickup restaurant. There are high-top tables and chairs for eating in. There were 5 of us. We walked in and ordered to eat in. The order took a long time, but the food was good. Keeping in mind the type of business not bad.

The cashiers and young ladies who pass the orders are very unfriendly. The customer service is lacking and unfortunately the customers have become accustomed to this level of service. The food quality is always great. That’s why I rated 3 stars.

Went to order food inside. Service gets order wrong. Makes adjustment just to say I owe more. Even though what I wanted was less. Then tried to tell her lead I didn’t understand why i owed more. Got a refund. Dont insult me.

Tried Bucharest at another location, and it was THE best shwarma I’ve ever had. Decided to stop in at this location out of convenience and wanted my husband to try it out. We waited for 35 minutes for 2 shwarmas… which didn’t bother us at all, but our food was cold when we finally did receive it. We did not want to wait another 35 minutes for hot food.
