The food was exceptional, delicious carribean flavors and the chef was excited to explain the offerings and make recommendations. I wish I had more time to come back and try the rest of the offerings.

I’m new to Eugene and just discovered this yummy food truck owned by Isaiah – who happened to be there on my visit. Isaiah and I had a wonderful conversation about the San Francisco Bay Area and food. I’m so glad I found a place serving pasture-raised and gluten-free battered fried chicken and local ingredients! The chicken is delicious – crispy crust and juicy inside. The collard greens are also amazing with just the right amount of spice kick – the rice porridge is mine (rice was not a part of this yummy meal). Well, I have to get back to my yummy meal now. Thank you, Isaiah!

Wow. I am normally not one who takes the time to post reviews or go back to give the chef some well deserved love, but this meal was awesome. The fried chicken was the stuff of dreams (yes, I dream of fried chicken…it’s also been my preferred birthday meal for decades). Perfectly crispy while still juicy. It had the right amount of spice and the right amount of breading. Perfect. I’ve spent a lot in the South and feel like I know cornbread, but this was some of the best ever. Not sweetened with yellow cake or other BS, but still managed a crispy outside and soft and steamy inside. Buttery, in no way dry (avoiding the word moist), and perfect. I was told they culture their own butter milk and that seems to be the ticket. It’s hard to get excited about corn bread and here I am writing about it. Can’t go wrong here. Oh, have you ever tasted a pickled strawberry? I don’t know why they aren’t a thing.

Tried this place for the first time! Really good chicken, the collard greens were to die for! Cornbread is really good too! The Carib donut was a bit bready and needed some dipping sauce, in my opinion. Service was a bit odd, the lady asked me if I wanted to tip after I already had. I personally would never ask a customer to tip, but she was very nice and maybe had just had a long day or something. Would highly recommend! It’s in the back of Coldfire so we were able to sit and have a beer while we waited for our food.

Absolutely delicious food. It’s a small but very varied menu so you don’t feel like it’s missing anything. We drive from Sweet Home to eat here when we can because nowhere else has their fried chicken half as good as this. So glad we found this place!

Really tasty. Super fun. Wish we’d found this gem before our last day here. We got the chicken plate, doubles with meat (deliciously spiced, smoked chicken), and donuts. All were excellent.

Fun, delicious and something different. Normally not a fan of chicken thighs at other places. They made them to a whole new flavor. Really, really, good!

Delicious gluten free food. I hadn’t eaten fried chicken in 14 years. But Yardy’s is gluten free (even though it doesn’t specify on the menu). Many of the sides are also gluten free, making for a wonderful meal. Isaiah is also a lovely human.
