We came on a fairly empty Saturday for lunch. We had to wait 5 minutes because one waitress did not show for work. Plenty of tables available, just one over-worked waitress. The food was so-so, average fare, not particularly tasteful. The restaurant reminds me of an Olive Garden wannabe. No plans or desire to return. From others who recommended this restaurant, it used to be very good but has declined over the years.

I don’t understand why anyone would have a bad review of the restaurant or Robbie as I know him personally and he is a good person.

I was disappointed at the major decrease in the quality of the food and the exorbitant prices that went with it! The chicken had gristle in it, the cheese sticks had cold spots due to their being microwaved, and there were no shrimp in the stuffed chicken like it stated in the menu! To top it off, I was chased after by one of the workers who threatened me, screaming “you’d better change that!” indicating that I didn’t tip high enough to suit them. From the previous reviews, I say they need to be shut down!!

First of all I found the appearances of many of the staff to be disgusting at Ragazzis. One of the girls was sitting there picking her nose and when she saw me looking at that, she quickly stopped and threw her hands by her side. She was also wearing a dirty shirt. When we were seated I said get us a table, they tried to give us a booth. There is a difference with tables and booths, even if they don’t realize it. A booth is too big for 2. When we were served I found the food mediocre. I had a simple meat ball spaghetti and my friend had the tortellini. One of my spaghetti meat balls was full of hard grizzle. Don’t know what it was, but it was nasty and hard. I asked to speak to the manager after we finished our meal and they said he was not available. Then they brought a kid to speak with us, whom said his name was Preston, and said he was the managers son. I told him our problem and he said he would tell his dad with a whatever attitude. He didn’t even seem concerned. I also got a weird impression of this kid. The whole lot here are weird and off putting. I wasn’t impressed at all.

So disappointed!! I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was horrible. I ordered through fetch (their service was great).. And it just looked thrown together, the portion was small, and not fresh at all. The sauce was terrible. I feel cheated, definitely not worth $16.50.

Monday is pasta night so $9 pasta vs normal $12. That’s with unlimited breads ticks and either soup or salad. Both of which are delicious. Great experience. Nice service and atmosphere.

I don’t think this place is terrible… but not great either. In between. Ragazzis is just a cheap alternative to expensive/better Italian places in Roanoke. The owner is non-existent here. His name is Robbie Hibbs. We have been here quite a few times and have never seen him but heard about him. The things we heard about him weren’t good either…. I wont come back here but I am sure they have some customers…. other wise how would they still be in business? Agree with the negative reviews…

Great cozy place, great food, friendly. Update: Unfortunately Ragazzi’s has closed. I don’t know why but they did. That is a shame because there food and service was great. We have eaten there for years. They will be missed.

I love ragazzi’s. For the most part they’re nice here. Sometimes they’re a little slow though. Love the lasagna. I usually come alone here, but have come before with my 7 year old son, if someones not watching him. There is one waitress, who was very sweet and nice. When I was paying for my meal the last time, she said “You are wayyy too pretty to be eating alone, girl” hahaha. Made me smile from ear to ear. I told her I like eating alone, so it’s no problem. She just smiled and when she brought me my change she said “I like eating alone sometimes too. We need time to ourselves”. She was just so nice. Loved that waitress. Can’t remember her name.. unfortunately but she was shorter and had medium length hair.

Food is out of date, Cooks are crackheads that aren’t very sanitary or experienced. Hostesses and wait staff are all washed up alcohics, drugheads & thieves. The owner is prejudice along with a lot of the staff there. He is rarely there & let’s young inexperienced kids run his restautant. He does not value his hard working employees at all & leaves his 22yr old spoiled punk son to manage the place which he is horrible at. A lot of drug use behind & inside the restaurant. Not even sure why this place is still open! Food is not authentic Italian better off going to olive garden or carrabbas, hell anything is better than this run down establishment. They say If you knew better you would do better!!! & trust me I know better.!! So don’t waste your time or your money .
