I stopped in today and had the Southern Belle burger. Absolutely delicious food and friendly staff. Will be back next time I’m in Alexandria!

Great little old school diner with a flat top grill. Small menu but good variety of burgers, sandwiches, shakes, and sides. Waitress was great.

Not from the area and decided to try it based on ratings and unique vibe. It did not disappoint. We will stop by again if ever in the neighborhood or taking a Sunday drive. Sweet tea, excellent and given some for the drive home. Big portions, my husband really liked the whiskey burger. And, while the taste did not rise to a typical Nashville hot chicken sandwich, our grandson’s could feed two people easy. I had the Godfather. I’d get it again but caution those who favor meat over bread as a ratio. Fries, onion rings and mac n cheese rounded out the meal and were as delicious as the rest. The atmosphere and friendly servers are far above most restaurants. Well done!

I’ve always gotta check out the diners when I get the chance so I ate lunch at Lou Lou’s. Got the Godfather and a side salad. The salad was impressive in size for a side and very fresh. Really enjoyed it. My sandwich was on good bread and tasted great though I wish I had added tomatoes.

You cannot sit indoors at this point, but they have a fantastic outdoor seating area for lunch and breakfast! Burgers are a great size and you have a good variety of sides to choose from. (Broccoli salad shown along with burger with bacon, fried green tomatoes, and pimento cheese. Nice flavor combination!) Also, the Sweet Shop is in the same building for a cold treat afterwards! A great place to stop for a bite.

YUMMM! So a few things to know… Spare Time Grill is roughly across the street from the Alexandria Brewing Company. There’s no indoor dining right now, it’s curbside and patio. You order at the walk-up window. Mostly sandwiches, salads, and burgers. Lots of options for the sides! The food is amazing! They do have alcoholic beverage options. Best sweet potato fries in the area. At the back end of the building is their new Sweet Shop. Had to bring home pina colada cupcakes!!!

This small little diner style venue is a local favorite. It looks like it’s been there a while. They have a limited menu of eccentric sandwiches and sides. Great for a quick stop. There is a long counter and a couple of tables for two. There may be more seating around the corner of the counter that I didn’t see, but at the counter you are right on top of the cook area. The staff looked a little solemn the day I ate there, but the good portion was large. I had the No Time to Spare sandwich with cheddar, Gouda, and Swiss cheese grilled with tomato and bacon and served on thick slices of challah bread. It was tasty and filling. I’ll go back for their burger selection and try some sides.

I must have came here on the wrong day compared to these other reviews. Came there with some friends for breakfast at 10:30am on Saturday and not a single smile or warm welcome from anyone there. They weren’t rude but just looked like they hated life there and were upset we came in to make them do work. I asked for the breakfast menu and she gave me one and the cook told us they normally stop serving breakfast at 10:30, but their breakfast menu she gave me said til noon. It was just really off putting to me. I normally try to give places at least 2 tries before I decide whether or not I’d ever be back, but based on how we all felt not welcomed, we won’t be back.

They serve the best burger !! Lori cooked up a bacon bourbon burger, was cooked perfectly, very thick and delicious. Campbell was our host, very cool and kept our drinks full. Super great atmosphere. I VERY HIGHLY recommend stopping in and try their daily specials, soups of the day, drinks, and more. Cannot speak more highly of this place.
