Atmosphere was great because it was a quiet place with almost no one there on father’s day but we struggled to get a cup of black coffee and had to wait quite a while for a refill cup. My meal came with components missing that were on the menu that I had to ask for, and over all none of it was great. My avocado toast was definitely guac from a container and my bread wasn’t toasted or if it was it was barely toasted so it was pretty soggy. My husband’s mixed drink didn’t come until about 3/4 through the meal and that was because we had to ask for it more than once. The “regulars” seemed to get much more attentive service from the wait staff than we did. I’m sure if you know the staff and are a regular everything is probably great but definitely not a great experience my family had. Not a place for new customers based off that experience.

This place was awesome! The atmosphere and look of the restaurant is very very nice! I went to try out their AYCE Spaghetti and Meatballs night on Wednesdays. It’s only $7.95 and they are quick to bring refills. The food is amazing, and their service is friendly and efficient. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

The staff at the Shanty are the best of the best! My son, my dog, and I were all stuck with a broken down car on a road trip from GA to NY. We made our way slowly to The Shanty because of their dog friendly patio to wait for family to get to us from NY. We had excellent food – the coconut shrimp salad is delicious – but even better service. I apologized to our server for being on the phone so much, and told her I was trying to locate a mechanic where I could drop off after hours, and upon hearing that, they launched into action! In no time, someone had checked my oil (!!! At a restaurant!!!), another had recommended a garage and offered me parking for the weekend, and another had contacted a family member mechanic to find me a place to take care of my ailing vehicle. They offered me to stay at a table well past being finished and paid while I waited, and in general, made me feel so safe and taken care of when I was feeling incredibly vulnerable.

Really great food at the shanty! I had the 19th street burger and my brother had the bourbon shrimp and grits. I appreciate the owner for letting us use our coupon on takeout, we recently had a death in the family and needed to be home, we wouldn’t really have been able to eat there.

Good for singles, couples, and parties. Not great for families with young kids. Expect big crowds on Friday and Saturday nights when live bands are playing; they usually have a really good lineup of bands. If you’re in a local band, or want to meet one to talk shop, check this place out.

Amazing restaurant. I’ve wanted to go here for years and something always kept coming up. Thankfully today was my wifes birthday and we wanted to try something new. First let’s start off with the parking. Hug parking lot. Then when you enter the restaurant it reminds you of a log cabin. With a hint of charm. We sat down and were greeted by Ronnie. Our waiter. He was friendly and always smiling. We ordered our food which came out super quick. And was well cooked. I highly recommend this place for any occasion . See pictures.

Had dinner at The Shanty last night for the first time. We opted for the patio seating, which was lovely. Initially ordered an old fashioned but found it unsatisfactory, so I requested a different drink as it was watered down and overly sweet with cherry juice. The fish tacos I ordered, on the other hand, were really good. However, my wife’s mussels lacked flavor, and she had to add salt and Tabasco to enhance the sauce, which was quite bland. When the bill arrived, I was charged for the old fashioned I didn’t finish, which was understandable since I had ordered it but had hopes they wouldn’t make me pay for a bad drink. Unfortunately, the overall experience wasn’t quite right, and it’s unlikely we’ll return anytime soon. It’s a shame because we had high hopes for The Shanty. On a side note, we didn’t encounter a manager throughout the entire evening.

Our group went to The Shanty on 19th St tonight. Our table was SO FILTHY we wiped it off with 6 wipes that were BLACK. Showed the waitress to no avail, she said she’d show the mgr. Had drinks, ordered food. Talked to the bartender, who said he would have taken care of it, but we already spoke to the mgr/owner….who didn’t even offer to take off drinks, let alone the meal. Make your own decision, BUT, we won’t be back!!!! What a SHAME!!
