We arrived 10 minutes before closing time, and the staff was good enough to still serve us. Great food, pleasant staff, and welcoming atmosphere. My dad used to stop here years ago, and I hadn’t been there and wanted to stop in.

If you are traveling through smaller towns in IL, you will see this chain of family restaurants. They are very popular with locals and travelers alike. This one had private booths and individual tables, as well as a long center table where people can easily mix and meet new people. It was absolutely slammed with customers when we were there. The staff was very friendly and conversational. And the food was good.

Would have loved to have been able to rate my experience here; but aside from having the hostess roll her eyes at me, when I walked in, and being told to sit at any clean table. I had no further interactions here. Sat there for 20 minutes waiting to get a menu. Two tables that walked in 5 and 7 minutes after me, got served. I tried to stop a waitress to ask for a menu and she walked right passed me. Apparently they are so well off, they don’t need your money. My recommendation? Drive 20 miles down the road and eat at Woody’s in LeRoy. They greeted me with a smile and served me immediately.

Great tasting breakfast, everything was warm and tasty! This is a classic old style restaurant where service and quality is old school. The service is great and the employees are polite, courteous and attentive. The restaurant is easy to spot from Interstate 74 with its iconic sign and conveniently located just after you get off the ramp.

Fast, friendly service. Great breakfast, I am picky about my toast and this toast was perfect, and perfectly buttered. Eggs, bacon and hash browns were delicious too. They were busy, and our waitress was super quick, and kept coffee filled. Wish I lived closer because it would be my new favorite breakfast spot!

WARNING…. Go on down the road if you want to eat. Got the hot beef sandwich. My mashed potatoes where crusty, they was like potatoes left from 3 days ago. Thry looked like thet left them out and they hardend. Then they warmed in microwave and left the crust stuff on them. Asked for new ones and got served the same nasty potatoes. Worst food that I have eaten, service was any better. Had to wait to ask the bus boy to get new potatoes. Don’t waist your money like we did.
