This particular spot gets PACKED with a very long line if you don’t come in right as they open shop, but there’s a good reason for it- the ramen here is better than any cheap instant ramen you can grab at home. The price is good, the food is good, and if it’s your first time ordering, you don’t have to worry about having enough time to figure out what you want to order- the Shoyu Ramen is so good, I go here every time I’m in Edgewater. Just make sure you take friends along to secure a seat for you all when you go to sit down!

The noodles are excellent. The soup is tasty and not too salty or oily. There’s the option to order yourself by using the TouchPad at the counter. Aside from the regular dishes, they also have vegetarian options. They have buns called “bao” which is vegetarian and is very tasty. It is steamed and I was lucky enough to get the last two. There is window seating in the food court and it was very cool to eat and enjoy the view of Manhattan while it is cold and windy outside.

DELICIOUS! I got the Char Siu Spicy Miso Ramen. I’ve had this dish for years and the taste remains as delicious as always. Sometimes you do get fattier pork, which I don’t particularly enjoy but some people do! The soup is also always tasty. I would highly recommend this dish!

It is pretty good. I actually have a Santouka closer to me in Toronto so I’ve been a few times before – I did like how there were multiple options for sizes which I don’t believe the one beside me has (at least not the Small option). I ordered the Miso ramen which was $12.80, and added a bottle of water for $1. I think it’s a bit more expensive than the one at home, since this was a small size and really didn’t contain a lot of noodles while the one at home is under $20 CAD ($15 USD) for a much bigger size. But I didn’t want a huge bowl of ramen anyways, so I was happy to get the small size – maybe it was a bit expensive though.

Waiting is usually 15 to 20 minutes, and it’s hard to find a seat at the food court, but it is worth waiting. I usually get miso ramen medium size. Can’t compare with any ramen places nearby.

Second time back in months and trust me when I say this, it’s the sole reason why many others and myself come to Mitsuwa Marketplace. Their Ramen no matter which broth you order is absolutely on point and flavorful. No wonder they’re always crazy busy no matter time of day. Overall incredible Ramen at affordable prices.

The Hokkaido ramen in the food court of Mitsuwa Marketplace (New Jersey). I usually order Miso ramen and ikura-don set. Ikura is usually very fresh and tastes good. I sometimes take-out the ramen, but I recommend to eat there instead. The food tastes different when you eat from the take-out bowl. Also, the line is long when you go there during weekends.
