First time trying Dad’s. Absolutely phenomenal experience. Greeted as soon as I walked in, despite the busy atmosphere. I was given a rather in-depth rundown of the menu, and although they had already sold out of the specialty sandwich I’d planned on ordering, there was no doubt after the owner’s recommendation that I could pass on the Rushmore. My order was prepared quickly (again, despite the line being to the door) and the food met every last bit of my high expectations. I’ve heard this place was good, but wow! Especially good was the side of beer cheese for dipping. Subtle heat, and delicious creaminess that complimented my sandwich perfectly. 13/10. The extra 3 points is for the enthusiasm and overall energy of the staff. Also for the sample of beer cheese étouffée which makes me wonder: is Dad’s low key the best non-Cajun Cajun restaurant in Lexington? Don’t take my word for it. Try it yourself.

Hidden within shopping entry hall lined with tables or choose outside picnic tables, this is finding your favorite deli in the back alley in NYC. Line pay and take a number to await your order. Sandwiches have their signature spreads, giving a burst of flavor depth with every bite. Photo shows the Rachel split with friend and Potato Soup. Also purchased Beer Cheese Roast Beef Sandwich to take home and a drink for around 24.00.

Went on a Friday afternoon. Special was bbq sandwich which was excellent. Also tried the blt and club. Very good. Also met and talked to Dad. He takes great pride in his food and using the very best ingredients. Don’t let the strip mall influence your decision to go. There will be a line but it moves well. Don’t miss this one.

Since this is my first visit, if my daughter who lives in KY didn’t mention about this place we would have never know this place existed. It’s kind of tucked away in a strip mall, signage is not the greatest so you have to know where you are going.

Okay, so this place is a hidden gem in Lexington. I hadn’t heard of it until a business colleague of mine mentioned it. He said, it’s a very unassuming place and he was right!! However, the food was absolutely fantastic!! Honestly one the best sandwiches I have ever had!! I got the chips as a side cause I didn’t really want soup as hot as it’s been. But, then the Manager or co-owner gave me sample of the chicken tortellini soup. OMG !! It was absolutely amazing!! I haven’t had any better at a 5-star Michelin restaurant!! You have got to go try this place, your taste buds and stomach will thank you!!! Great job Dad’s, keep it up!!
