Maria’s is locally owned and operated by the Crapa Family since 2007.Back then, the Family just moved to the USA . Because of their strong love for food, their dream was to open a restaurant and share their favorite Sicilian dishes with Americans. The perfect opportunity came when they met two wonderful people, Jim & Melinda, whom offered to help them get started. Maria’s was therefore born right in the heart of Old Town Petersburg.

I absolutely loved the ambiance of this restaurant. The food was impressive. Pasta was perfectly cooked Al dente. Fries were fresh and crisp. Sandwich was better than expected. The mojito was good. Desserts were decadent. Great service from our server Christian who had helpful suggestions. Would definitely come back again.

Went to lunch with some of my amazing business partners! This is a very large space with outside seating as well as, in door dining. The waiter was new, but was very polite! Everyone in the bar went above and beyond to give us 5 star treatment! Will definitely come back to enjoy more food items!

Went here for a birthday and was kind of saddened to see how empty it was. For a Friday night you would think a place would be packed especially one of that size with an absolutely stunning bar complete with copper engraved inlays and mood lighting but alas no one was there. They have a huge inside seating area as well as a semi private room for parties and a large patio with outside seating. Why this place isn’t packed could be the lack of ambiance in decor as well as lack of attentiveness from the staff with the exception of our waitress that night. The owners didn’t even speak to us and looked right at us. There was no music playing in the background and the prices were ridiculous for pizzeria style food that was so-so. I wish old town Petersburg could get some restaurants that had ambiance, amazing food, great prices, and a wonderful staff. Why is that so hard to come by these days? I would settle for just amazing food at this point because I’m not paying today’s restaurant prices for mediocre food. I’ll cook it better at home thanks

Love the atmosphere! It’s a very cute restaurant with amazing decor. The service was prompt and polite. The prices, however, were on the higher end. My husband and I ordered 2 appetizers; calamari and bruschetta, and one main dish to share, spaghetti. I had a cocktail, and my husband had 2 beers. In total, we paid about $85. The food was good, but nothing that makes me want to go back and spend that amount again.

Overall,we enjoyed our dining experience Maria’s Old Town 21 on Friday evening and it was very close to the VSU Multipurpose Center, where we were going after dinner. The food was good and the atmosphere/decor was nice. My wife and daughter really enjoyed the masquerade masks that adorned the walls, especially because the theme of her senior prom is “Masquerade” this year. Our service was good, considering they appeared to be a little short staffed that evening. Our server did a terrific job. The courses were well paced, so that we had time to enjoy them separately, instead of everything brought all at once.
