About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

Order a Pizza (? I think called Lou) added sausage and easy sauce. It was okay but it had yellow cheese on it. Since when does pizza mean anything other than mozzarella. Also, ordered bruschetta. It was very good.

Ordered a pizza that took more than an hour to arrive and when it came uncut (we selected for them to cut it) we cut it and pulled the piece up and half of the pizza itself is gone. No dough, only sauce and cheese. It’s incredibly frustrating spending over $20 for a pizza for half of it to not even be edible and then to speak to the manager over the phone and he barely believes you but why would a customer lie about something like that? It’s not much to ask for a good FRESH pizza that costs so much and you can tell it was sitting there for awhile before being delivered.

Look closely to see the water present, not only on the box but in the pizza. The crust is completely saturated on the 1 and only slice cut. It’s absolute garbage!! Nothing at all like my first time trying it last week, at a friend’s house on the N side of Chicago. Don’t you have any pride? You won’t be open long without it!!

I used to love this location but it is getting worse and worse. The grease that was pooled on the inside of the crust was really bad and soaking the carton. It is already expensive pizza and I always order extra sausage with pepperoni which costs more and I would like a great pizza everytime.

Horrible deep dish pizza. There was so little sauce on the pizza, I was basically eating dough and toppings. We ended up throwing half the pizza away. Waste of money!

I don’t order from here alot. Friday during lent, ordered a deep dish cheese pizza. It was just a heavy dough with bland sauce and hardly any cheese. I’ll stick with Phil’s pizza in Oak Lawn.

Never disappointed. Sometimes they get a little busy and there’s a long line for pickup but they do their best.

The pizza was not so good and $36.00 for a medium pizza is way to pricey especially when I did not enjoy it, it might just be my taste buds though. I won’t be returning.
