Tried out Zee Zee’s recently before going to a concert. We had several appetizers and some martinis and everything was great! My favorite was the fried cheese! Was just the right amount of crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. And the martinis were a hit too!

Typical bar food, not as good as old George’s. Got the fried fish and shrimp basket with jalapeño cheese fries. The shrimp were ok, the fish was okay too. Nothing to write home about. The fries were just a mushy mess, wrong kind of cheese. Service was slow even though they had “Eleven” people working. 3 behind the bar, 4 or 5 on the floor maybe 3 in the kitchen. We will try again

We decided to visit ZeeZees for the first time during restaurant week. When we walked in none of the employees acknowledged us and after standing there awkwardly we were finally told to sit at whatever table we wanted. When we arrived there were about 4-6 other tables, overall it was pretty slow. We then proceeded to be ignored for 30+ minutes at our table, we were not given menus or drinks during that time. I understand that they may have been short handed, but the employees walked past our table several times and never once acknowledged or served us. There were even tables who came in after us that were served before us. Once the 40 minute mark hit and we were gathering our things to walk out a server finally came to our table. We decided to order our appetizers and main course at the same time since we had already spent enough time waiting. The food was okay overall, but the lackluster service left a really bad taste and we probably will not be back.

I will never go back to this place ever in my life. The manager made the server charge me for a drink that I returned. I asked for a lemon drop instead of the original drink I ordered because it was disgusting. Then they told me I’d be charged for both drinks, so I said don’t even worry about the lemon drop. I took 2 sips of my first drink and asked for another one. I’ll never go back & I will never recommended them to anybody.

What was once a staple of southern Louisiana culture and delicious home cooked meals has become a trendy college puke bar with McDonalds’ quality eats. Sorry to see Baton Rouge traded a classic spot for another Tigerland low quality endeavor. Go Tigers!!!!

Used to hang out at both Zee Zee’s and George’s back in their heyday. The new place does a great job of combining the spirit of both. Very good poboys, along with a good happy hour. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, despite ongoing preparations for the upcoming St. Pat’s festivities.
